#WQW.....Theme: Fitness Follow-up #3

It's another week of  Writer's Quotes Wednesday, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQW here.

This weeks theme is a fitness follow-up. I went back and looked at my posts I'd previously written. It was good to go back and see what I had written. I won't be posting the next two weeks as we'll be gone on vacation and I'm leaving my computer at home.

I was happy to see that I haven't strayed too far from the things I wrote about, however, I know I need to buckle down in some areas and while I won't beat myself up, I also don't like how I feel at the moment.

I ordered a book called 75 Hard after hearing a few friends talk about it and listening to a few podcast episodes. Ummm, just the title alone should give you an idea of what it might entail. I bought the book because it sounded interesting and I've been feeling like I need to challenge myself in some areas to get some breakthrough. This is meant to be a challenge of not just physical but more of a mental challenge to do a number of tasks for 75 days and if you don't complete a task during a day, you start over...I'm not sure how I feel about that or some of the things, but I'm going to read the book and see how I feel about it. The idea is that it is not meant to be easy, or even "convenient", it's meant to force you to get uncomfortable, to stretch yourself, etc...either way, I'm sure I'll learn some great things from the book.

Fitness takes on many forms and for each person it will look different, and that's totally okay. From physical fitness, to emotional fitness, to mental fitness. It's all important and all plays a part in our overall well being. For each individual person it will look different depending on the day, the year, limitations, etc. I think the key, at least for me, is to stay positive, not beat myself up and just do something, anything. I liked the following quotes I found.

My mind definitely needs some convincing right now to get back on track, to be more intentional with eating and exercising especially. It's struggling and thus my physical body is struggling.

Another hard truth....it's up to me to make it happen. Wanting and wishing aren't going to do anything for me.

Again, I think this will look different for each individual, but the key is to compete against yourself and who you were yesterday and if I miss the mark today, I start again tomorrow. It's a fresh new day!

It does amaze me how so many people stay stuck where they are....of course, we all do to some degree, I know I do...if I want a different result, I need to get up and do something myself.

I'm ready to set some new intentions...to buckle down....to get back on track with exercising and stretching and eating intentionally. I did some blood work last week and while I have always had low iron, but my results are showing iron deficiency anemia, so my naturapath is starting me on a few supplements to help, and I really need to be more intentional with eating iron rich foods. Hopefully they will help.

This post was such a good reminder of what is really important when it comes to taking of me and my health. Thanks Marsha for doing an update.

With Joy UNquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. You go girl! I love the quote, "Life has no remote. Get up and change it yourself!" That's adorable. Terri introduced me to eating oatmeal with protein powder, so I have changed that from protein bars every morning. I don't do as much walking at home, and do more blogging, but I am cutting back on that by removing Story Chat from my hosting. What about Quotes Over Coffee? Like more of a coffee share? That's sort of what I do with WQW. Or just leave it WQW like you said and come up with another W word that doesn't scare people. What I like about this challenge is how close we've gotten. I love reading all of your posts, and they inspire me.

    1. Thank you. Yah...I agree...we'll see if I do it. I may do something similar or a take on it, but part of the idea is not taking an easy way out, to challenge ourselves.
