Wednesday Hodgepodge
2. The Winter Olympics begin on Friday, surrounded by much controversy. Will you be watching? Haha...I haven't even paid attention to anything so I don't even know what the controversy is. Why or why not? That being said, there are certain events we enjoy watching, like ice skating, and this year it would be fun to watch the bobled races, because Jamaica is in it and one of our favorite movies is Cool Runnings. Have you ever been to China? I have never been to China.
3. Something in your life lately that has felt a bit like an 'olympic event'? Oh boy, is juggling an event. Sometimes work feels like an Olympic event especially on Monday afternoons. I do feel like I'm trying to juggle the necessities while making sure I'm making time for things I enjoy like my blog posts.
4. Do you like fondue? LOVE fondue! Sweet or savory? Mostly savory bt I do enjoy sweet. Restaurant only or do you own your own fondue set? I've never been to one of the "fondue" restaurants like Melting Pot, but usually if we go to a German restaurant we will have fondue, and yes, we make it at home as well. Usually cheese fondue!
5. Give us five short (2-3 word) phrases to sum up your January.
1. We got snow.
2. Vacation planning
3. Family is important
4. My word = unfold
5. cold plunge
6. Insert your own random thought here. January seemed to go by too fast. This weekend we are celebrating our granddaughters 1st birthday. We're keeping it small, mostly family and a few others, though my son in law has 3 siblings and they all have kids so it won't be super small..lol. We're doing brunch and hosting it at our house since it's a bit bigger than my daughters. It should be fun. The theme is "Pepper's berry first birthday" so lots of brunch foods with berries. I'm heading out soon to babysit and trying to decide what to do for dinner tonight. Thinking I'll put a chicken in the crockpot and when I get home finish it off in chicken soup. I usually don't get home til 4:30.
We are very close to getting ready to occupy the new part of our house. It won't be completely finished but close enough. I can't wait. It's all the little things that we'll still need to do, but we're ready for it to be done.

Enjoyed your post. Have fun celebrating your Granddaughter's birthday.

DeleteYou are busy with post that you do. I do love the ice skating too and yes Cool Running's is a fun movie. That is nice that you still make fondue. Yes January has gone by quickly. Have a wonderful party. How exciting!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Debby
DeleteI had to go look up what the controversy was too with the Olympics! We've watched less in the past few years because we've moved to streaming and don't have access to as much as we used to. I don't think I have ever had fondue but instinctively know I'd prefer sweet!
