Tuesday Four and Wednesday Hodgepodge

I'm double dipping this week. Hopefully I can get these posts done.

Watching TV

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea.

Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

Here are some questions for you.....

Let's talk about Television okay?

1. Do you own a TV or do you have more than one? We have one TV. Is it old fashioned or one of the new wide screens? It's newer and hangs on the wall. It's a decent size and hubby has a sound bar for it because he likes to get the full effect of movies.

2. Which programs do you like to watch ? I don't watch much TV. I do like cooking shows, DIY shows, some competition shows. I like Hallmark shows, or crime shows. Comedy if they're clean.

3. Were you ever a soap opera or serial  fan and if so what series or soaps were your favorite? When I lived at home and my mom watched them, I would watch, but no I don't watch them. Are they even on anymore?

4. Is there a TV character that stands out in your mind and if so what makes them special or noteworthy? I don't think so. Like I said, I don't watch a lot of shows.

From this Side of the Pond

It's time for Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce, who blogs at From This Side of The Pond.  Each week she'll pose some questions for us to answer. What a great way to journal life.

1. What's something recent that had you 'tickled pink'? The cute photos my youngest daughter took of our granddaughter for her 5th birthday. They're so cute.

Also this photo. I was at their house yesterday and had my camera because there are sometimes eagles along the river. She said "I want a camera like that someday". I let her take a few photos with it. Below is one she took.

2. A bed of roses, everything's coming up roses, every rose has it's thorn, stop and smell the roses, rose-colored glasses, a rose among thorns...which rosy expression might currently be applied to your life in some way? Hmmm...I'm going to say stop and smell the roses. I really want to not feel so rushed about everything. I want to slow down more and enjoy little things around me.

3. What makes you feel loved and appreciated? I suppose it would depend. Usually the little things; saying thank you, pitching in, helping out, doing what you said you'd do. Also, a little note, card, simple gift, something that says "this reminded me of you".

4. A box of chocolates or a bouquet of fresh flowers-what's your pleasure? Oh man. I do love flowers (an assorted bouquet please), but also don't mind chocolate. Any special plans for Valentine's Day? Nope, no plans. Our grandson has a basketball game in the morning.

5. Share a favorite quote, scripture, or song lyric relating to love. I love this version of 1 Corinthians 13. It's always been a favorite.

Love is not about defending a point of view; even if I am prepared to give away everything I Have and die a martyr's death; love does not have to prove itself by acts of supreme devotion or self sacrifice.

Love is large in being passionate about life and relentlessly patient in bearing the offenses and injuries of others with kindness. Love is completely content and strives for nothing. Love has non desire to make others feel inferior and has no need to sing it's own praises.

Love is predictable and does not behave out of character. Love is not ambitious. Love is not spiteful and gets no mileage out of another's mistakes; it bears no record of wrongs.

Love sees no joy in injustice. Loves delight is in everything that truth celebrates.

Love is a fortress where everyone feels protected rather than exposed. Love's persuasion is persistent. Love believes. Love never loses hope and always remains constant in contradiction.

Love never loses its altitude

1 Corinthians 13:3-8

The Mirror Translation

6. Insert your own random thought here. You know, I'm sure I have random thoughts all the time, I just don't remember them. I will say today I'm struggling to find my motivation and I need to because it's my day off and I have things I need to do...mainly taxes, and try to wash my car. I want to go to the wildlife refuge, but there's a part of me that feels like that would be a waste of my time, even though it's something I enjoy. Ugghhh. I'll let you know next week what I decided.

Here's something somewhat random. I haven't looked this up yet. I'm listening to an audiobook (The boxcar librarian) and they mention creamed eggs on toast. I've not heard of creamed eggs. This morning in one of my FB groups, and on the podcast connected with it, they mentioned creamed eggs. Never heard the term and then twice within 24 hours. Are you familiar with creamed eggs?

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin
