Journaling Life: Share Our Lives: Bingeworthy Shows

As a hobby blogger, I love finding others that seem to have similar interests, tastes, and that you feel you just resonate with. Joanne from Slices of Life is one of those bloggers. I participate in her Share Your Shelf Link party and this morning I saw this one "Share Our Lives", with some other bloggers I enjoy following as well. I thought I'd participate. Each month there's a new theme of sharing a part of daily life.

This month is about binge worthy shows. Her link up is here

I almost decided not to join in this month because I don't watch a lot of TV. However, there have been some shows I've really liked. I'm not very impressed with the shows that have come out the last several years. It just seems like they are more edgy, more sex, more language, just not as family friendly. I'm excited to see what everyone else shares. Maybe I'll find something to watch.

Some of my favorite shows that I would probably binge watch:

The Mentalist: This show first aired in 2008 and had 151 episodes. I watched them all. Patrick Jane served as an independent consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation and had a reputation for unusual methods and was a former "psychic". He is also using his link to the bureau to hunt down a serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. I loved this show. Funny, but also serious.

When Calls the Heart: This show is on Hallmark and I just love it. The first episode aired in 2014 and so far there have been 13 seasons. It is inspired by the Janette Oke's books. It follows Elizabeth Thatcher who is a young teacher accustomed to high society and her first assignment is in Coal Valley, a small mining town. She is welcomed by some, while others are more suspicious. I have not been disappointed by any of the series.

Mistletoe Murders: I heard about this show on one of my cozy mystery pages, AND it was on hallmark. I literally binge watched the two seasons when my husband was out of town. A fun "cozy-ish" type mystery show, and not too cheesy and a bit of romance.

Flashpoint: This was one my hubby and I binge watched quite a few years ago and really liked it. It was about a Canadian police tactical unit (a SRU...strategic Response Unit).

Other shows I would probably watch back to back episodes of:

* CSI
* Cooking Challenge Shows or some DIY type shows. I love Joanna Gaines cooking show.
* Hawaii Five-O
* No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency. I've read three of the books and loved them.
*Only Murders in the Building
*Full House (old 80's/90's comedy shows)

I know there are so many shows...I just don't watch a lot of TV.

  1. I really enjoyed The Mentalist! You might like High Potential; it's about a maid who was hired to clean the precinct and realizes that the detectives have the wrong suspect. It's revealed that her brain works faster and differently than others and she's really good at solving crime cases... but she's a bit of a loose cannon when it comes to following rules. It is considered pg-13 for language and violence/gore with the murders and all.
