Taking in Life Around Me......#Sundaystills...Theme: Color Challenge: Brown/Gray

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

This weeks challenge is our monthly color challenge. The colors are Brown/Gray. We might think those colors as dull, but nature would say otherwise.

I spotted this dilapidated building in Colorado.  If I remember correctly it was on our train ride from Durango to Silverton, so was more than likely an old mining building.

I love old wood! I love the color variations, the textures, the look. Above is another building I spotted in Colorado. Below is a covered bridge in one of the New England states when we visited.

This year was a rainy one at the pumpkin patch, and after a particularly nasty weekend, they put a canoe in a giant puddle, which people thought was great and got in to use it as a photo prop. Even my co-worker and I hopped in.

I love how insects, animals and even birds use their coloring to blend in. At the Magic Wings conservatory in Mass. we spotted so many beautiful moths and butterflies.

When I searched "brown" in my photos app on my phone, it brought up Brown University..haha. I had taken these in Providence, R.I. The buildings were so beautiful and a mix of brown and gray brick and stone.

Also while in Colorado I visited a coffee shop that had many antique pieces. I loved this one and the wood hues and cutouts in the front.

While we had mostly amazing weather on our Colorado trip, there were some gray skies.

While visiting Ouray we ventured to Box Canyon and I just loved these rocks.

Even on the cloudy days, the sky and clouds were dramatic and incredible.

Oh, let's just put a tunnel through a huge rock. Pretty amazing really!

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

Wow, you captured a lot of gorgeous browns and grays, Kirstin! The various buildings, critters and views are amazing to see. That golden light in the one pic from Colorado is breathtaking!
