Taking in Life Around Me.....Sunday Stills...Think Pink!

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me

This weeks theme is our monthly color challenge and the color is PINK. I may not wear the color pink often, but I do love how pretty it is, especially in nature.

A few weeks ago I took my camera and headed to Lake Sacajawea after dropping my granddaughter off at preschool. I had a few plans...get my steps in, take some "path" pictures for the challenge in a few weeks, and find some "pink". I succeeded in all of those. I'm sharing some photos I took elsewhere as well.

Enjoy!

The rhododendron is Washingtons state flower, and the lake has quite a few. I remember having them in our yard growing up, and while I think they're pretty, I did NOT like deadheading them. My hands were always so sticky. I found quite a few pink ones while on my walk.

I'm thinking that the azalea is a close "relative" to the rhodie! Equally pretty in a more petite way. I have yet to succeed at growing them though.

On our trip to Florida in May, we stopped in a cafe that was decked out in pink! So cute, and the food was good too.

I loved this mural when we visited Clearwater Beach. So fun!

A pink straw flower in a pink vase in a market area we stopped at.

Back home..I love the pink in Indy's tie dye shirt. We had stopped there before picking up Pepper from school and colored for a bit.

Back in February I went to a dot art class and this was what I made. It was so much fun. I actually bought a small kit to do at home. The white lines were wiped off after everything was allowed to dry.

I love a garden that is a little chaotic. This one I spotted on a trip to Hood River, Oregon last October.

A very weird and pink looking mushroom.

This hummer LOVES my feeder. They literally will make a ruckus when it's empty or too many people are around, though they've gotten more brave and will come when we're standing or sitting nearby.

Some pink flowers decorating a barrel at a wedding I did with my daughter and her coffee cart a few weeks ago. She makes custom labels for the event.

The last set of pictures are from my containers and yard. I was out watering tonight and realized how much pink I had.

We always called bleeding hearts, ladies in the bathtub. If you pull apart the sides, it looks like a lady sitting in a tub.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

Hi Kirstin, love this huge collection of pink flowers! I keep forgetting about rhodies being a good flower for us here.

    1. Thank you. I know. I see them a lot but avoid buying them, even though I know they'd be pretty.
