Taking in Life Around Me....#SundayStills : Purple

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me

This weeks challenge is a color challenge, and that color is......PURPLE. Now, I don't personally care to wear purple or decorate my home with purple, but I do love the color purple in nature.

When in Hawaii we had poi mochi donuts...don't even ask me what that all means, but it was good. I was totally into trying all things popular with locals and tourists and this was one...look at that pretty purple inside. Wikipedia says this:
One of the earliest iterations of mochi donuts can be traced to the development of "poi mochi" by Charmaine Ocasek in Hawaii in 1992. This iteration is a fusion of American donuts and Japanese mochi and "consisted of deep-fried balls of mashed taro and mochiko, a Japanese short-grain sweet rice flour".
How about some beautiful purple petals to top our dessert when we were on a trip to Canada last year!

Last Saturday my hubby went to the Farmers market and brouht back this beautiful bouquet.
The other day while on a bike ride with the grandkids (they rode, I walked), we spotted these pretty anemones. What a stunning shade. At first I thought they were poppies, then it clicked that they were in fact, anemones. I'm thinking I need to find some to plant.

These little pansies grow everywhere in my mother and father in laws yard. So pretty, but I know they drive her nuts with how much they spread.

I do have some purple showing up in my yard. The ground cover above, and whatever this little flower is below. The bottom one might be a result of me tossing some bulbs randomly last year that I thought were going bad, hoping maybe a few might actually take.

Photo taken of my hyacinth in one of my pots. Like I said, I love purple in nature!

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin
