Taking in Life Around Me.....Signs of Spring
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
I'll start out first apologizing that I didn't get around to comments last week. I need to do better. Second, I was so excited...I looked at my post and saw 6 comments. SIX!! I thought, well, at least I'll go back and comment on those who took the time to head over and leave a comment...well, they were SPAM! All about crypto. I was quite sad. If I'm honest, I was a bit discouraged too. I love blogging as a creative outlet, but I'd be lying if it didn't make me a little sad and discouraged if there aren't many or any comments on posts.
Anyways....this weeks challenge is all about spring if you're in the northern hemisphere and fall if you are "down under". While my area of the PNW can still be pretty wet, and we may even still get snow, I LOVE seeing things poking up from the ground, buds on the trees. Robins in the yard. Hearing the frogs at night and birds in the morning. I do NOT love the stupid woodpecker that arrives every spring looking for a mate.
Last years bouquet I picked up from our local market.
This spot in our yard, off our driveway, is kind of a chaotic mess, but in spring I love the flowers that pop up.
Trees are blossoming!
Trees are blossoming!
I was behind this farm equipment a few weeks ago. You know it's spring when these are on the road.
My forsythia is in full bloom!
Every spring (no set time), the smelt run in our local river that feeds into the Columbia. With them come sea lions, bald eagles and sometimes pelicans. It's quite a site to see.
I get lens envy when I drive along the dike and see all the photographers out with their massive lenses taking what I can only imagine are some amazing photos, and I'm here with my little 28-300. Ha!
The slugs are back. Uggh! This guy was on my porch.
I spotted this in someones yard so pulled over to get a photo real quick.
I know some people don't like frogs, but I love their sound.
Kirstin
Hi Kirstin, I love seeing your posts. It's disappointing not seeing engagement on our blogs. I only follow two bloggers on the Blogger platform. I rarely get notifications and it can be difficult to comment. Have you thought about migrating to WordPress? You put a lot into your blog and you should be rewarded.
ReplyDeleteI love your spring pics. The Forsythia is stunning as well as the daffodils! Looks like spring storms are on the way to your side of Washington. We might get a tiny bit. But it will get to 75 here today. Have a great week, my friend!
Thanks Terri. I've thought of migrating, I just don't know how to do it. Want to come visit and help..haha. Is there a fee for wordpress. I know others who use blogger and see quite a bit of engagement, so who knows.
DeleteI love all the flowers photos, Kirstin, the bouquets as well as flowers in the garden and roadside. How precious to find the old photos of yourself and your sister. Great memories. I have the same question as Terri's. Have you thought of migrating your blog to WordPress? I get blog notifications from WordPress but not from other platforms.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Miriam. I have thought once or twice about migrating, but haven't really taken the time to look into it more.
