Taking in Life Around Me......#SundayStills : Plant Life
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
This weeks theme is plant life. June is Great Outdoors Month so we are celebrating it in our photos. I have been intentional the last week with taking some photos.
I don't know what this one is, but I spotted it outside the visitor center in the Olympic National Park!
Plant life in the Hoh Rain forest were so stunning and fascinating!
This HUGE "wishy" flower (what my girls always called them), was on Kelley's Island. I wish I had seen the flower before it turned to this.
On one of my adventures on Kelley's Island, I spotted this large area of flowers. Filled with bees and some butterflies.
I couldn't identify half of the flowers and plants I saw on the island but they were so pretty.
Greenery climbing up the side of an old barn/shed.
I think these could be wild grapes, or abandoned grape vines, but I remember when we were little, we called those wispy "y" snake tongues and growing up we'd chew on them. They were sour, but for some reason, we liked them.
Purple crown vetch on the banks of Sandusky Bay outside my uncles house.
I snapped a few flowers on my walk up our hill Sunday morning. These daisies are always a favorite. Foxglove are also so pretty to see in the wild.
The remaining photos are from a botanical garden I visited in Hawaii. So many unique plants. Each area was designated to different continents.
Kirstin

Great variety of plants and flowers seen at home and in your travels, Kirstin! By the way, houseplants bring the outdoors to the indoors :) I use google lens in a pinch to ID plants. I also subscribe to Picture this App (not free) to ID plants. We live in a beautiful world!
