Putting Fingers to Keyboard.....#WQ Theme: Activities and Hobbies

It's another week of  Wednesday Quotes, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQ here.

This weeks theme revolves around activities and hobbies that inspire us. I've always been one to love a variety of activities and have enjoyed many hobbies over the years. Some hobbies took a back burner during certain seasons of life. Some I picked back up, some I just left on the shelf.

I didn't think to double dip with Terri's Sunday Stills last Sunday. Oh well. Here's that post if you're interested.

As I was looking for quotes I saw a few things that talked about 3 hobbies you should have, or 5 hobbies you should have and I thought they were interesting:

1. One to make you money.
2. One to keep you in shape.
3. One to keep you creative.
4. One to build knowledge
5. One to evolve your mindset.

I liked these. I think I have hobbies that apply to most of these, except #1. Now I suppose a few of my hobbies could make money, but I don't know that I have a desire for that. But come to think of it, maybe I would consider my interest in social media, blogging etc, is what drew me to become a Virtual Assistant for a blogger.

What are some of my hobbies/activities past and present:

* Photography
* Counted Cross stitch (now I prefer stamped embroidery)
* Reading (is that a hobby?)
* Blogging
* Hiking
* Doing Jigsaw Puzzles
* Making sourdough and Kombucha....I will call these hobbies because there is a craft to it and something that has to be done consistently.
* Crafting (though I don't take as much time for this as I'd like)
* Gardening (pretty much non existent the last several years, unless you count my blueberries)
*Traveling
*Playing Games
*Virtual Assisting
*Thrifting/garage sales/antiqueing

What are some things I'd like to learn to do more or take up:

*Doodling....I see some neat ideas for doodling and lettering
*Drawing.....not looking to become an artist, but I think it would be fun to learn to draw simple things.
* Nature walks to find birds/animals in our local area.
* Paddle boarding. I've done it once and really enjoyed it.
* Gardening and preserving what I grow.

No pictures for me this week. I shared several on my #sundaystills post of the different things I enjoy doing, if you want to check those out real quick. See ya next week.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. I didn't remember that you were a virtual assistant. That sounds like a hobby that would pay. I thought about doing that. I trained a couple of students to become virtual assistants. It was lots of fun to have someone to work with. They didn't earn any money, and I didn't get any either. But the two boys became pretty good friends. :) I definitely think reading is a hobby.

    1. Yep. It is something I enjoy. I always wanted to do it full time, but the only way I could do that is if I just jumped in and quick my other job, and that's just not possible right now.
