Taking in Life Around Me....#Sundaystills : Theme: Out the Window
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
This weeks theme (glad I double checked...I thought it was something else), is through a window. We got some snow Wednesday and yesterday. I made a snowman (Wednesday), and today I put some bread crumbs out for the birds to see if I could get some fun pics through my window (I apologize if they're not clear, my windows aren't very clean right now). I'm also going to go through my archives to see what fun ones I can find. I had every intention of finishing my post yesterday (Sunday), but we got busy playing a game and it never happened. Now I'm a day late. Edit: WOW...I just realized today is SUNDAY!!! Oh my goodness! this weather must have frozen my brain.
I love unique windows, and on a trip through the Columbia River Gorge last year, we stopped at Crown Point, which is one of the most popular visitor spots and viewpoints along I-84. I LOVE these windows. A few months ago I think I shared a picture from the outside of the windows. They may even fit with our color theme next week of Aquamarine. What do you think?
When Terri and Marsha were visting two years ago (has it been that long already), we went to Fort Vancouver, and grabbed some fun photos...it was fun seeing how we each chose to compose photos of the same or similar things. I am a sucker for sun coming through a window, like the one above, and from the window in the door below.
When we were walking in Switzerland, I spied this violin makers shop and took a photo through the window. I mean, WOW!!
Out the window from my desk...often the deer will pass by, the birds fly and when it snows, I love sitting here and watching it fall. Yesterday (Saturday) it was so windy. I love sitting and listening to the wind and watching the trees sway, praying they don't fall.
To me, this feels like more of a window than a door. simply because it doesn't open..the front part does, but not the glass. I love looking into our "fireplace" when it's going.
Today, I had fun throwing bread out to the birds and watching them eat it. Sorry these pictures aren't a better quality...they were "through my window", which has a screen and they haven't been cleaned, BUT it was still fun.
When in Europe I also spotted these through a window. I can't remember if it was Italy or Switzerland. I think Switzerland.
Out the window of our hotel in NYC in 2017...I can't remember what floor we were on, but it was pretty high up.
Coffee through the window at the Blue Bottle Coffee Shop in NYC. We had a list of coffee shops to visit on that trip.

You always have such a nice array of images for the Sunday Stills themes, Kirstin, and this post is no exception. I think it takes a lot creativity to shoot certain subjects through glass or windows. So lovely and gotta love those snowman pics right now! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteThank you...I have fun choosing...I also need to go through my photos because I probably have TOO many!!
DeleteNice variety. Great job with the snowman and getting the birds to come pose for you! Love all the travel ones, like you I could spend eons in the archives! Bernie
ReplyDeleteThank you...took them forever to stand on the snowmans arm
DeleteA wonderful and varied selection, Kirstin. I love watching flames in the wood burner too. We had a dusting of snow today but nowhere near enough to build a snowman. I love how one of the birds is using his arm as a perch :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThese are fabulous! The violin shop window, showing the street reflected in it, is a work of art. And I love the airplane wing with the sunset in the background. The flickering flames are so cozy! Birds and people make great subjects. :)
