#WQW.....Theme: Autumn or Fall/September Equinox

It's another week of  Writer's Quotes Wednesday, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQW here.

This weeks theme is all around Autumn or fall, depending on what you choose to call it. This week Marsha is gone so Priorhouse Blog is hosting. I've always called it fall. I love fall. The changing leaves, the pumpkins and pumpkin patches, comfort foods. Here's my post from last years #WQW on Fall.

Here are a few of my favorite recipes:

Now onto some quotes and photos.

The trees around our local lake (Lake Sacajawea) are so pretty in the fall. It's actually about 20 minutes from our home, but most things are so we don't mind driving. It's actually near my oldest daughter now. I'll have to bring my grandkids sometime. It's a beautiful lake with an awesome walking trail around it.

Another local lake about 20ish minutes the other direction.

More of Lake Sacajawea. Aren't the colors stunning?

I'm also really excited about fall this year because my hubby and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in October and are flying to Boston on October 8th and driving through the New England states hopefully soaking up all the beauty for 10 days. Well, more like 8 since I don't really count travel days.

My son in laws family runs a pumpkin patch for almost 30 years. I've been helping at it for almost 10. I absolutely love it.

Foggy mornings at The Patch. I love talking to people and getting to enjoy the outdoors.

There's a huge assortment of pumpkin and squash varieties. Did you know there's a really big one that looks like a giant zucchini? I wish I had a picture of it.

I love the crunch of leaves under my feet!

  1. These are gorgeous pictures, Kirstin. I love the reflections. I miss these ostentatious displays of color. We don't seem to get as many in Prescott or maybe I just haven't opened my eyes. :) Your pumpkins are beautiful. How fun to work in a pumpkin patch. That must have been your shirt today. So great to be with you today. :)

  2. Love the quotes and the autumnal photos are gorgeous. I love the rich colours at this time of year and the way it's acceptable to put spices in everythng.
