Taking in Life Around Me.....#Sundaystills.....Theme: Jade

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terrie from Second Wind LeisureI've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme.

This weeks theme is a color challenge. The color is Jade. I have always loved the color Jade and pretty much all shades of green! Growing up my mom had some Jadeite glass. I have a few pieces, but for some reason I can't find them to take a picture of.

There are so many shades of "jade" when you look them up, anywhere from almost turquoise, to a deeper green. My favorite shade of actual Jade would be the lighter, creamier color you see in a piece of jewelry or glassware, but like I said, I like it all.

Let's see what I can come up with:

This green "barn", more like a shed down the road from my house, usually houses a couple of horses. They move them elsewhere in the winter and then bring them back late spring.
The Green leaves of my spring flowers are definitely a beautiful color of green.
I loved this old truck being used as a planter for some type of green succulent.
The river in Venice definitely looks to have a green hue to it.
This green gate down on the farmlands was pretty. The picture doesn't do the green justice but hey, it's green, so here it is.
Green lily pads at one of our local lakes. The lake is popular with walkers, joggers and is so pretty. It's about 20 minutes from our home, about 5 minutes from my daughters house.
This "quiet pool" is part of the Fort Worth water gardens and while described as having blue water, it looked green to me when we visited. It is surrounded by Bald Cypress trees. The water gardens are amazing to visit if you're ever in the area.
When I'm at the beach, I'm always on the hunt for unique rocks. The top left one had quite a bit of green in it. One thing I've always wanted to do is visit the Agate beaches in Oregon, but I just haven't done it yet.
When we visited family in Florida, one stop we always made was Blue Springs in Orange City. The water is pretty there are walking paths, moss covered trees, and if you're there at the right time, you can see Manatee.

Well, that's all I've got for today. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else shares.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Wow, Kirstin, such lovely jade green shots you've shared with us today! Those water pictures really show off the variety of delicate hues . The last one of Florida is so green, love it! The lily pads are always so pretty, too. I like the mix of the two greens in the first photo--the cool green shed and and the bright spring green of the grass!

  3. I loved your photos of green! I especially liked that of the daffodils... they represent spring, hope, rebirth and so many other positives to me! Here in Ireland we have Daffodil Day in the end of March when you can buy daffodils in different forms and donate money to the Irish cancer society.
The farm gate picture is very nice too!

    1. Thank you for visiting Susanne. I would love to visit Ireland someday. My husband went when he was in college with a singing group and loved it.
