#WQWWC....Theme: Fog

It's another week of  Writer's Quotes Wednesday, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQWWC here.

This week I decided to stick with the theme of fog. Like most words, fog can be taken literally, or figuratively and it seems this year it is a fitting word for me.

Fog = a thick cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere at or near the earths surface which obscures or restricts visibility.

* Something that obscures and confuses a situation or someone's thought processes
* Bewilder or puzzle (someone)
* Make difficult to understand
* Something that clouds our ability to see things clearly

If I don't have to drive in it, I love when there is fog hovering. I live on a hill, and often it is clear at my house, but as soon as I hit the bottom of the hill, I'm aware of the lingering fog. I love seeing the fog across the river or the fields. I don't like driving in thick fog with no idea of what is in front of me.

I've also dealt with some hormonal things at the beginning of the year that just threw my mind and body and even emotions int a fog. Not as bad as some stories I've heard, but still, not too fun. Along with that, my dad passed away unexpectedly and things are (always have been) strained between my sister and I. Life is good and it's amazing, but there are times, a fog settles, and I have to remind myself of so many truths so I don't stay there.

Here are some quotes I found that spoke to me.

YES! I've had to remind myself of this so many times. In the midst of the fog of what someone else says or thinks, I have to remind myself that I know who I am and I know the person I am.

Another beautiful reminder! This reality has helped me stay steadfast even in those foggy moments, those tough times.

I just had to throw this one in because it's hilarious and so true!

Whether literal fog, or any other "Fog", it will Always, Always, ALWAYS lift!

So true. I used to be a very black and white person, but that's just not always the case. It's a good reminder.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Kirstin, it is so hard losing a parent, especially one you are close to. Yet, even in the fogginess of your thoughts, your parents are there, speaking to you through many memories. Sometimes we are in a fog because we are enjoying some alone time with our memories. We never know when they will come on us, and distract us from what is going on around us. I'm so glad you shared this. I especially love, "Due to intense brain fog, all my thoughts have been grounded until further notice." Have a great week and rejoice in the foggy day schedule. :)

    1. I totally agree with you...they are always with us. I see them in so many things, and even in my own daughters. You have a great week too.
