Sitters, Sleepover, Soccer and Sickies...what do they have in common

Well, they all start with the letter "S", but they are also what we have experienced over the last 24 hours. Friday the girls watched this cutie pie for a few hours. Really, it was only 2 hours max but he got sick. I didn't think anything of it.
That evening Nan had a friend spend the night. They had a blast together. The watched movies and ate tortilla chips and cheese, and popcorn and ice cream. Then they hit the sack because they all had soccer games on Saturday morning. In the morning she talked her dad into getting them a donut at the local donut shop since their game wasn't until 11:00.
Both girls played great. Their teams lost but they played so well. I had to miss Nans game because Kat had a game just up the road. A friend of ours took pictures so hopefully he got one of her scoring their teams only goal. Afterwards they get snacks which usually include "not so healthy things" much to our dismay at times. Alright...for some reason my fonts are giving me a problem and I'm too tired to keep dealing with it, so just enjoy the variety!
After the games, I met up with hubby (since he was at Kats game) to get the girls and head home. Nan was complaining of a tummy ache the whole way home. I thought it was just from the stuff she'd been eating the night before. We don't eat much "junk" food and if she eats too much of something, sometimes it bothers her.
Well within a few hours she was "sick"..I'll refrain from details, but as moms I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. But lets just say we spent the rest of the day and night in and out of the bathroom. I put a garbage sack in a garbage pail to keep by the bed. She felt so bad because her friend was still at the house and we couldn't get a hold of her grandma to come and get her. I still thought it was from the food.
Kat was gone with a friend and was spending the night. I got a phone call at 3:00 in the morning from her friends mom saying Kaitlynn was "sick" and was coming home. Sooo, needless to say we were up most of the night with sick girls. Thankfully Nan was done by 11:00 and slept the rest of the night, Kat took awhile longer. I sent a text out asking people to pray for them and the mama of the cutie pie boy above sent a text saying she and her hubby were both sick as well....soooo they very likely picked up whatever the baby had.
The girls and I slept till 9:00 this morning. Hubby left earlier for church. We're just hanging out today and maybe I'll go grocery shopping. We'll see how it goes. I'm tired and not much in the mood for shopping and I'm sure not everyone is in the mood for eating. So I may just wait and go tomorrow morning.
We are rarely sick and so when we are it really throws us for a loop. I'm talking it can be years with us not being "sick" like that. Maybe colds here and there, but that's about it.
With Joy UNquenchable,

  1. Well that is no fun!! Something has been going around here as well but so far we have stayed clear of it. With the soccer and cheer schedule I don't think we have time for getting sick (laugh). :) I am praying that your whole family is well and it doesn't spread!! :)

  2. Bummer - so sorry that everyone got sick - hope it was a quick one. Hadden was sick yesterday, but so far, he has been the only one. I am praying that it stays that way!
    Blessings!
