We got a Wii

We've never had a nintendo, xbox, or any other box for that matter. Two weeks ago we bought at Wii to give away at our youth camp, and decided to get the girls one as well. It would be an early Christmas present. They've been wanting one, we've thought it would be fun and my inlaws have wanted one.
We gave it to them last Saturday morning and that afternoon we went to some friends house to play it (didn't bring my camera). It was a riot! We laughed so hard.
Then on Sunday we brought it to my in-laws (where it will stay till our house is done). The following pictures are from there. My girls really get into this..I was sure they'd go through the TV screen a few times. We played so many games we were actually sore the next day...sad, I know. We also took the Wii fitness test. My Wii fitness level is that of an 80 year old...I think I need to practice. Kat boxing! Tennis..note Nan getting awfully close to the TV. Love the little leg and arm movements.
She really gets into it. So does Kat, I just didn't get them on camera.
Dad taking a try at tennis!
We've definately had to lay down some ground rules with this, because the attitudes came out of the woodwork. But it's been fun and I think it'll be a blast the more we get to try it.
I'm off again to paint the house. I really want to sit and post on our camp, but I haven't had a good chunk of time to do so. Later I'll post pictures of the bedroom that we painted yesterday and today.

  1. Looks like fun! I have heard lots of good about the Wii system. The kids have been wanting a Wii/video system for a while, but I just haven't caved yet. I think Dad really want's to cave.

  2. That looks like so much fun! I know my children would love it, I just worry that while they're watching the screen the wii-mote would break a nose. I also imagine that it'd turn into a weapon in this house pretty quick.

  3. My kids saved up for a Wii system and were able to purchase it a couple weeks ago. It's been a lot of fun for the entire family.

By the way, I tried to send you an email, but it bounced back. So here's my response to your questions:

The visit was pretty good. And yes, great weather! Quite a bit cooler than here in Texas where we've had weather over 100 for several weeks. And I actually did make it the coast—for the first time in probably 18 years! We stayed in a beautiful home on the beach, but it was kind of foggy, so I actually walked on the beach only once. But it was a relaxing time all the same.

As for where I went? Well, other than the beach I pretty much stayed home—at my sister's home, anyway. The only time I went anywhere, other than the wedding at Postelwait, was to the Old Spaghetti Factory by Clackamas Town Center.
