Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's time for Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce, who blogs at From This Side of The Pond.  Each week she'll pose some questions for us to answer. What a great way to journal life.

1. What most recently gave you goose bumps? The weather in Arizona gave me goosebumps...haha. We had some chilly days while we were there.

2. What does Halloween look like in your home and/or neighborhood these days? Do you participate? It doesn't look like anything. We have never celebrated the holiday. Even growing up we might have went trick or treating, but my mom never decorated for Halloween. I don't care for the holiday.

3. Pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, poppy, chia...your favorite seed on the list? I'm going with pumpkin seeds, though I do like all of them.  What's something you like to make/eat that calls for one of these seeds in the recipe? My homemade granola calls for them, and every year I also roast pumpkin seeds.

4. What's the most (or one of the most) 'fall photos' you've ever taken? Share it here. Just one. That'll be tough to share just one. I'll share one from last fall in Colorado. This was when we were coming off of the Grand Mesa. This was around Skyway Point overlook. It was so stunning.

5. Somehow we're rolling in to November next week. If your October were a chapter in a book, what would the title of this chapter be? Okay, I couldn't think of anything creative so I asked chat...of the list, I liked "October in the rearview". I spent weekends working at our local pumpkin patch and traveling to Arizona. I'm moving into November, but still reflecting on October. Working on an Arizona blog post.

6. Insert your own random thought here. We just got back from a trip to Arizona. We had 8 full days. It was a nice trip though the weather didn't cooperate. We had several days where there was intermittent rain and then two days of heavier rain, thunder and lightning along with some tornado warnings. We did have a few nice days and we took advantage of breaks in the weather to see things. We loved Sedona, the grand canyon and Horseshoe Bend were our highlights. We also spent the first 3 days and the last 2 days with dear friends of ours. It was a wonderful time talking, sharing our hearts and heartbreaks, we've walked through similar journeys with church life and it was much needed for all of us. Here's a few photos.

At the Grand Canyon. What a beautiful place and each viewpoint showed something different.

Horseshoe Bend was worth waiting in the car for a break in the weather. I was determined we were going to see this. I told my husband I was NOT leaving Arizona until I saw it. Haha!!

Sedona was more my vibe than the Phoenix area. I love the red rocks so much. Hubby snapped a photo of me, taking a photo.

Of course, the Grand Canyon. Stunning and just one of hundreds of photos I took.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

Wow! That fall photo is beautiful!
That is a shame the weather wasn't so great for your trip but it still sounds like you had a lovely time. Fantastic photos!

  2. What beautiful photos! I'm sorry about the weather. I have a friend who was in AZ last week too and said they had more rain than they would have liked. Sounds like you made the best of it though, and it's always a gift to catch up with old friends who understand all the seasons of your life.
