Taking in Life Around Me...#Sundaystills. The future

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

Terri chose the theme of future for this weeks prompt. At first I wasn't sure what I was going to do. Then as I was looking for some pictures of bridges for the #lens-artist challenge, I knew the direction I was going to go.

In 2022 my hubby and I took an iconic 10 day trip through the NE states. Talk about history, AND looking toward the future. We also took a 2019 trip to Europe. Visiting these older established countries and states was so beautiful and eye opening. The talent the early builders had was incredible and I just wonder when they were building, what they saw in the future, what were their thoughts, hopes, dreams.

Yes these photos preserve the past, but I like to think they glimpse what these early settlers hoped for the future.

We did a very quick walk of the Freedom Trail when we were spending our last day in Boston. I wish we had more time to go slower and even do the self guided audio tour.

Studying and understanding the past is a great window into the future. What went through the minds of the pilgrims, the natives. What hopes and dreams did they have for future generations?

Did the builders of these covered bridges hope they would last as long as they did?

This was a phenomenal and I would completely do it again!

In my current life (haha), I often joke about the day I get to retire and fully pursue all the hobbies I enjoy fully and completely. While I fully live in the present, I also look forward to what the future holds, for myself, my family, my grandkids. The world is theirs to live their lives to the fullest.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin
