Taking in Life Around Me....#sundaystills (Ever)Green
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
I seem to be hit and miss with posting. Life has a way of waylaying me and I don't get around to it. This week I'm later than I like to post for Sunday Stills but that's okay.
This weeks theme is our color challenge and it is "(ever)green/dark green". I feel blessed to live in the evergreen state of Washington (mostly for the landscape and beauty, not for the high prices of pretty much everything, politics, etc...haha.) Anyways! I love the color green, it's probably my "first" favorite color. Doing a quick search, I found this image from color meanings.com. I also love traveling throughout the PNW and anywhere else that has nature to show off.
Back to my love for the color green. It simply makes me happy. It's both inside and outside our house, and I will occasionally wear the color. While cities are fun to visit, I need nature nearby. When my youngest daughter and I visited NYC in 2017, we were very excited to get home to our green landscapes.
On our trip to Central Oregon a few months ago we took a walk along some lava fields. This tree growing confidently through the rocks made for a fun photo with the snow capped mountains behind it.
Another favorite spot to visit is Benham Falls along the Deschutes River Trail. It's an easy walk with wide path and beautiful scenery.
Visiting Canada in March was fun. The above photo in Kanaskis gave us some stunning views of the mountains and of course the trees.
Hiking in the PNW is a favorite with beauty abounding. However, you also get glimpses of spots where fire has destroyed the forests.
When the grandkids and I leave things at the gnome trail in Seabrook, Wa. I added a cedar branch to mine.
Ending this with not much commentary as my granddaughter is wanting to play a game with her.

Hi Kirstin, as always, you share some stunning pics of nature and landscapes. I LOVE your green accent wall and kitchen counter! Cute pic of you all! Cool shot of the bald eagle too!
ReplyDeleteThanks Terri!
DeleteOoh, I love all your gorgeous photos! The Deschutes River trail looks amazing, I don't think I've been on it. I agree there's nothing like hiking in the Great Northwest!
