Taking in Life Around Me: #Flower Hour

My blogging friend Terri has started a new photo challenge #flowerhour and I may try to join in each week. She'll post every Tuesday.

This week Terri gave me the idea to also share with the Lens-Artist Challenge #lens-artist. Each week it's hosted by someone else.  This week it was hosted by John-Bo. I've never joined because I've never quite felt adequate, BUT, how else will you learn if you don't challenge yourself. This weeks theme is Tools of Photo Composition: Perspective, Depth and Scale. Yikes. I'll be the first to admit, all the jargon of photography gets lost on me. I want to learn so bad, but I can just never remember. So if you're reading this, feel free to let me know if I got it right or a bit off.

Perspective: I was thinking in these two, the dirt rows but also the rows of tulips appear like they grow closer together the further away they get.

We used to have a local tulip farm, that is no more. I miss it. These were all taken about a year or two before they closed down.

Depth
: I think I got the idea on this one.

Scale: Nothing like looking up into the trees to realize how grandiose they can be. The first image is in the Olympic National Forest and the second was on our trip to Colorado last fall.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

These are wonderful, Kirstin, you nailed each compositional element! I'm glad I had decent examples. Trust me, I had to read a lot of the other L-A posts to get the right idea foe mine. This is a great way to learn!

    1. Thank you. I think this challenge will be good for me...get me out of my comfort zone, get me out more using my camera (or phone..lol) and continuing to learn until it all sticks.
