Taking in Life Around Me.....#SundayStills: Pastels

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

I wasn't sure if I'd get around to posting this week. We were on vacation the week before last, and usually the week you get back can be kind of chaotic. However, it's Monday and I'm actually off of work today so I think I'll get it done. I'm also doing it on a new computer. My laptop pretty much bit the dust so yesterday we went and got me a new one so I'm still trying to get things how I want them.

This weeks theme is pink and pastels. Not necessarily my favorite colors, but in nature, they totally are.

This was my Mother's Day basket from my youngest daughter. Definitely some pastels and pink in those flowers. When I went into the coffee shop where she works and saw the mug I loved it, then I jokingly said "hey, this is a perfect Mother's Day Bundle..the mug, matching bag of coffee and sweatshirt in cream like the mug". They all laughed and said "oh, really?" Guess they thought it was a great idea too. I hope those of you who are moms in this group had a nice day.

The lilacs are on their way out at my house and my MIL's house but I snapped this photo when I was down at her house over the weekend.

I also took photos of her Weigelia and her pink Rhodies! So pretty.

I love how pretty the chive blossoms are, and this little guy sure was going to town on them.

We took a vacation a few weeks ago to Sunriver, Oregon. One of our favorite places to go, it's been a few years so we were excited to be back and with the whole family. This mural was by the shops in Bend in the Old Mill District.

A pretty bouquet of flowers we put out on the table for Easter dinner.

I love these pretty flowers that look so soft and fluffy.

I spotted this mural while in Calgary.

One of my fist stops when I go to the airport is Stumptown Coffee kiosk to grab a coffee. This cup was pretty cute.

I spotted this sign when we were in Colorado. Babushka's was the name of the shop. So cute and I agree with the sentiment.

Isn't it amazing the display of colors nature provides. Just stunning!

There is nothing like pastel skies. Above is in Colorado's Estes park and below is after a thunderstorm in Sunriver.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

Stunning varieties of pink florals, Kirstin! Our lilacs haven't peaked yet and you remind me to get a few more pics of them. Your Sunriver selections are nice too. Glad you had a wonderful mother's day!

  2. Wow, your flowers are stunning, Kirstin. I smiled at your quote, too. Mountains do make us think about the all the time, just by being there. Happy belated Mothers' Day. :) xxx
