Tuesday Four....Let there be Light
Lights
Let's talk about light, okay? You light up my life.. shine a light in the darkness, Miller Light. All kinds of light but how about at home?
1. Are you afraid of the dark? When I was younger, I used to be afraid of the dark and always slept with some type of light on, I just couldn't have it pitch black. Now I fall asleep better when it is completely dark. Now, with that said, am I just dying to go on a sunrise hike and have to walk up a mountain or hill in the dark....nope. Do I enjoy walking outside at night...nope, but in my home, I'm much better with the dark.
Is night or day your favorite time? I'm kind of curious to hear from those who say night. Day is definitely my favorite. I mean, of course, at night, we cozy in to read, watch TV, do something else. I love to hear the frogs at night, but day is my favorite. One year our family went to Florida and we did "Disney at Dark", which was fun, affordable and a great experience, but I decided that for me, I wanted to see everything in the light of day!
2. Do you have night lights in your home? Not anymore. We used to have one in our upstairs hall that was motion activated. Those are nice to have. When the grandkids spend the night, I do put a small light on so if they need to make their way during the night to our room, they can see where they're going. We have outside string lights that are set on timers to come on at certain times and go off at certain times.
3. How low do you set your air conditioning? Do you adjust it through the day? It all depends. If we're all away from home, we won't set it to go on, or at least not as cool. We like to open windows and run our ceiling fans and if it gets too hot, we'll hit the AC. We live in the PNW and our temps are fairly mild.
4. Do you keep any outdoor or indoor lights on all night? No, we have a few lights that are on timers outside. We don't really keep our outside lights on...I'm not really sure why we don't.
We love the string lights from Costco..my hubby set them up on a timer so they go on just before we wake up and then turn off after a bit and then go back on in the evening for a few hours.

Oh, I do love those string lights you have on your house! I bet that really looks nice at night. We have a lot of little solar lights in our yard, and we have motion sensor porch lights at our doors. We do keep little light sensor night lights througout the house inside so we can see our way around in the nighttime. Oh, it would be nice to live where we didn't need AC all year round. Here in Florida we can have heat in the night and morning, and AC the rest of the day...like today. The neat kicked on this morning, but it will be up to 82 this afternoon and because we are currently surrounded by wild fires a few miles away, the smoke is very heavy and there's no way we could open the windows. Besides that the humidity is too high here most of the time so we need the AC for that as well. I enjoyed your post and I love the picture of your house!
ReplyDeleteThe patio deck and string lights look so nice. I'm one of those people who loves the night :-). I guess that's why I'm a night owl though I often wish I was more of an early bird. I enjoyed your answers. Have a lovely week ahead.
