Wednesday Hodgepodge

It's time for Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce, who blogs at From This Side of The Pond.  Each week she'll pose some questions for us to answer. What a great way to journal life.

1. March is rolling on out of here. Sum up your March in ten words or less. March seemed to blow in and blow out!

2. Are you afraid of heights? Ha! Yes I am!!! I have no idea why or when it started, but I feel like I've always been afraid of heights. I do remember there being a bridge we had to drive over when we went camping and it was really high up and even at a young age I was afraid of  going over it. When was the last time you found yourself dealing with a height, and did it make you nervous? I have gotten better over the years, but it's still a struggle. Let's see....while I'm thinking, I will tell you a story and why this question made me laugh. This past weekend my hubby and I had some time off, he came in our room while I was reading in bed and said he had a great idea of something we could do...however, he had his computer turned away and a sly smile on his face....I knew he was up to something...when he turned the computer, I saw tulip fields and thought "oh cool...forgetting, the tulips were probably done". Then saw the hot air balloon, and said "NO, NO WAY, NOPE"...he tried so hard to get me to do it, "you can bring your camera"...I said "nope, I probably wouldn't even get to the edge". I told him to take his mom..haha. Interestingly, flying in a jet doesn't bother me as much, maybe because I'm fully enclosed, I don't know. The things that get me would be ladders, things that are more open, even a glass bottom bridge (or whatever they're made out of). Okay, the last time that comes to mind was when we were in Colorado driving on some of the roads and there basically wasn't a shoulder, and also some of the viewpoints were pretty high up, it was hard to look over the edge. 

The photos below of when we were in Switzerland and were at the James Bond 007 Experience at the top of a mountain. This walkway is constructed on the side of the mountain...that was scary for me. 

While in Switzerland we also climbed to the top of the Bern Munsterplatz. There are about 344 stairs to the top. That made me a bit nervous. There were several viewing lookouts and balconies as you went up.

3. What's a word you struggle to spell on a regular basis, and sometimes need to double check before writing it down? Definitely is one I always seem to spell wrong. I know there are a few others, but that one always gets me. Use the word in a sentence that tells us something about your April calendar. I'm definitely looking forward to April, and our family vacation at the end of it.

4. Love 'em or hate 'em, with Easter comes the sweet treat known as Peeps. So... do you love 'em or hate 'em? I used to love them. Now, I haven't had one in awhile. My daughter did just fine these ones that are dye free and plant based marshmallow, if you want to feel a little better about having them or giving them. Speaking of peeps, what's your favorite way to have chicken? I don't think I have a favorite way, I love chicken in all forms, but I do get excited over a really good piece of fried chicken...crunchy, juicy, give me a leg or thigh please! Or one of each.

I was reading someone elses post and they mentioned peeps on a s'more. This reminded me of a recent baby shower I went to for my nephew and his wife. They had a S'more bar, complete with peeps. I didn't have one though, and now I wish I would've. I hope the video plays.

5. This week's Hodgepodge lands on the first day of April, which happens to be National Poetry Month. Do you like poetry? I do like poetry and always had fun when we had to write something in school. Haikus were my favorite. However, I always feel like it's a lot of work to try and write something. I don't read it too often.  Share a favorite line or two from one of your favorite poems. What makes this one a favorite? I couldn't really think of a favorite line or two, though I'm sure there are some, but in searching to see if something triggered a memory, I found this one and chuckled because I love books...

"Books to the ceiling, books to the sky, my pile of books is a mile high.

How I love them! How I need them! I'll have a long beard by the time I read them".

6. Insert your own random thought here.  Well, I had something I was going to share, couldn't remember if I had shared it last week, and have now forgotten what it even was! Seems to be how my past week has gone...haha! I've hit a wall and can't really think much to share. Hope you all have a great Easter!
