Double Dipping: Tuesday Four and Wednesday Hodgepodge
Grocery Shopping
Of the cities listed how many have you seen in person? I have been to Boston, and New York. Of the cities listed which would you most like to visit this year? I wouldn't mind seeing Philadelphia or Charleston, but the Virginia ones would be fun too. Any plans to do so? Nope. Maybe if I lived on the east coast. What's one place in America you think everyone should see? Oh man! That's a tough one. I think there are so many places. I love our PNW and there are so many stunning areas to visit. I would also say the NE states in the fall. Colorado was a real treat as well. If you're not American what's one place in the US you'd like to see?
2. Three sounds you love to hear?3. Three sounds you hate to hear?
1. Coyote howling
2. Sirens (we hear them daily at work, and it usually means something has gone wrong).
3. Conflicting sounds...It seems the last few years I am highly annoyed by multiple noises going on at once. Music or TV going, and then someone watching something on their phone loud enough to hear.
4. February 24th is/was National Tortilla Chip Day. Are you a fan? I do like tortilla chips..they need to be nice and crispy With salsa, guacamole, queso, or just plain please? Love them all ways. With all the things, or nothing at all. Do you like nachos? Definitely like nachos With what on top? Sometimes just cheese. If in a restaurant we like the works minus onions. Sometimes if I make them at home I'll use whatever leftover things I have in the fridge. Is there anything (besides nachos) you make that calls for tortilla chips? We like to have chips with our taco soup. Other than that, I haven't made anything that uses tortilla chips in any way other than a side for dipping.
5. We March into March with next week's Hodgepodge...what's one thing on your March calendar that makes you smile? Our youngest daughter turns 27. I'm traveling to Banff with her and a friend for a few days then we'll celebrate the following weekend with family.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I think I'm finally over being sick. I had a cold at the beginning of the month and then came down with another one. The first one was more of a cough, this one was all sinus. Because of that, not much to update since I haven't had much motivation.
I am trying to get back on track with steps and exercise. It's been so easy to slack off but I know I need to get back at it.
I will share this...I always use my instant pot for hard boiled eggs, 5 minute pressure than a 5 minute release time. Last week I tried for a soft boiled egg and it turned out good. I did 3 minutes pressure/3 minute release. It was not fully yolky but for me, just right. Next time I might try 2 minutes.

I enjoyed your answers to Tuesday 4 questions (I didn't read your other submissions yet). Food prices certainly are out of control here too.I'm going to check into the phone app you mentioned for keeping shopping lists. Your menu for the week sounds delicious. Can I join you for dinner? 🤣
ReplyDeleteHi Kirstin, I also posted both memes together because I don't blog every day. I can't believe how expensive coffee is! We don't buy much read meat, especially since those prices are crazy too! I was in Oregon a couple of years ago and loved it. I have only been to Seattle for a few days after a cruise in June and they were having a heatwave. During Covid my husband and I took a virtual tour of a few states and Charleston was one of the places. The taco soup sounds good. I don't think I have made that unless it is like albondigas-meatballs. Those eggs look really good. So glad the prices went down. Enjoy the rest of the week!

ReplyDeleteAhh! The prices of everything are rising here in the UK too. How interesting to read about your shopping habits!
ReplyDeleteChildren's laughter is such a wonderful sound and I hate the sound of sirens too, they really put me on edge.
Have a wonderful trip with your daughter!
Your eggs look great! I do my soft boiled eggs in my air fryer and they come out so well.
A trip to Banff sounds fabulous! I don't have an insta pot but I do make a lot of eggs, all ways. I'm the same with noises. If the tv is on I need everything else to be off. In general I don't like to hear someone else's phone conversation, regardless of the extra noises around. I think people don't always realize how loudly they're speaking on their cell. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteRecently, I wrote a little bit about high chocolate chip prices- for Ghiredelli chips. At Sam´s Club, I bought a 72 ounce bag for less than fifteen dollars. They´re Nestle and the quality is not as good as they used to be but at leas they don´t break the bank... I´m glad you´re feeling better. The sound of sirens and conflicted sounds are not pleasant ones. Happy weekend!
