Wednesday Hodgepodge
2. What's one thing you wish you knew before starting high school? I really have to think back that far? Knowing what I know now, I wish I would've known that I could be confident in who I was, that once we were out of high school so much didn't matter anymore. I'm very thankful that I had the friends I did, I'm sure it spared me a lot of heartache.
3. What's something that bothers you if it's not done perfectly? Haha. I'm am really not a perfection whatsoever, so probably not much. I guess I would say it bothers me when the dishwasher isn't loaded efficiently or things are put away where they go in the kitchen or the kitchen my daughter and others in the house use isn't cleaned regularly. I don't care if any of these things are done perfectly, I just wish they were thought out a bit more.
4. What's the most overrated food you're convinced people are just pretending to enjoy? Dubai Chocolate. I've not been impressed. What's a trendy food you actually do enjoy and would say is definitely not overrated? Oh man...I don't completely pay attention...I'm going to say Smash Burgers and Avocado toast. I Love the crispy edges and melty cheese on a smash burger, and I really love avocado toast. I'm sure as I read everyone's answers I'll remember more. That's assuming I get around to visiting you all.
5. Wrapping it up this week with five fun this or thats...
dance like nobody's watching or sing like nobody's listening? Can I say both? If I have to pick on, it'll be sing like nobody's listening. I love to sing.
unlimited tacos or free pizza? Joyce! how can you put these in the same this or that. I'm going with free pizza.
ten minutes late or ten minutes early? 10 minutes early!!!
6. Insert your own random thought here. It's raining this morning. We could use it. I intentionally didn't water my flowers last night in hopes it might rain. I do have to water my hanging baskets. This afternoon I'm supposed to go with a friend to find some Little Free Libraries so I kind of hope the rain stops by the time we go.
Last weekend we all went to the fair. I enjoy going with the grandkids. It's fun to experience it through their eyes! We got our grandson an unlimited rides bracelet since he's tall enough to go on several...he had a blast and would've stayed forever. Our granddaughter couldn't quite go on as many so we just bought a certain number of tickets for her, but she had a blast too so we might have to rethink that next year.
My MIL entered some of her Swiss Cookies in the fair and received a 1st place ribbon. She was proud of herself. We are proud of her too.
We have a wedding to attend this weekend. My oldest daughters niece (on her hubby's side) is getting married. We've known the whole family for years and I help at their pumpkin patch each year. I'm not sure if my hubby is going or not. I'm looking forward to it..
Okay, lots to do today so ending this now.
Can I come swimming next weekend? Sounds like fun, I have not gone swimming yet this summer.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your MIL.

That’s the kind of summer day my soul craves. I haven’t tried the Dubai chocolates. I can’t fathom paying $20+ for a small piece of chocolate. Prices around here are insane.
ReplyDeleteThat does sound like a perfect summer day! Have a fab time at the pool, how cool that you can reserve one.
ReplyDeleteI am glad we don't have a dishwasher, I don't think my family would load it to my liking. lol
I wasn't impressed with the Dubai chocolate either but I do love smash burgers!
I do like it when it rains during the night so I don't have to water the garden, I hope the rain stopped so you could enjoy your day.
I've never heard of booking a pool. Is this in someone's home? I'm intrigued! I haven't tried the Dubai chocolate yet so can't weigh in on that. I'm a fan of avocado toast and smashburgers both. Have a nice rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteI love your description of a perfect summer day and I'd love a day like that too. Hope you get to enjoy a couple of them before summer is over! congratulations to you MIL on the blue ribbon - that is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI'm with the others on never hearing of renting a pool. Sounds like an interesting enterprise. You reminded me that our small town fair should be happening soon. Congrats to the blue ribbon winner! Fun.
