Tuesday Four...The Art of Living

The Art of Living

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea.

Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

First, I apologize for not commenting on posts last week. I went to go back and do it but when I refreshed the page, I couldn't find it anymore. I seem to have this problem. If someone can point me to finding old posts with links, that would be wonderful. I thought, well, I'll at least go comment on whoever commented on mine, but...no one did. I'll do better this week.

The art of living can be tricky and you need to know how it's done.  Life gives you lessons if you are paying attention.  Part of the art is knowing  how to see things as they really are....

Let's talk about your view on life.....

1.  What gives your life meaning or purpose? I would say my faith for sure and the people I surround myself with; friends, family, coworkers. People I find my path crossing who encourage and challenge me. I would also say my hobbies or things I love also give my life meaning and purpose. Why does it do that for you? I feel like connections to faith, people and things we love and that bring us joy are what fulfill us. Asking myself, how can I make my little corner of the world just a bit better.

2.  How do you define success and happiness for yourself?  I feel like when those around me are thriving, my home is in order and peaceful, my workplace is a place where people enjoy coming to, I'm able to enjoy some "hobbies" or just things I enjoy, that's when I feel successful and happy. I do feel like when we reach goals financially in our lives, that is great, but it doesn't define success in the avenue of contentment. It sure makes things easier, but I have to be able to find success and happiness no matter what the finances are because they can change so quickly. I want to live my life well, with joy, low stress, and handle situations with grace and love.

3.  What lessons have your biggest challenges taught you?  That I should have established deeper friendships. That I should have made friendships outside the four walls of the church. That relationships shouldn't only be based on agreement. They also taught me that I'm a stuffer, I hate conflict and I'm more of a flight person than a fight person.

4.  How do you want to impact the world or those around you? I want to empower people to be who they are, to be confident, to follow their dreams. I want to leave a legacy of kindness, joy, love. I want those I come in contact with to leave feeling amazing and better about themselves and their circumstances. I want to handle things with grace and kindness even if I have to be firm or confrontive (which I hate...being confrontive that is). I want those who think differently to feel like they have a voice and are heard. I don't want to refuse to listen to others points of view, I want to try and understand.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. I enjoyed reading your answer & getting to know you better. If you want to find the meme every week just create a reading list and add the web address. You'll get a post in your reading list every time Annie creates a new post for Tuesday 4. I hope that helps!

  2. The other thing you can do is link the Tuesday 4 in your blog post (like you did on this post). If you link the specific date you just click on it. It will take you to the link up where you will see the bloggers that have posted that week.

  3. Good answers. I really like your outlook.

Now I am going to try to find that post no one commented on! 😎
