Tuesday Four.....
Your Reading Opinions
It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea.
In spite of moves and television, reading is still a popular way to spend time for many people all over the world.
All kinds of people read all kinds of books. I thought maybe we could talk about it a bit this week and get your personal opinions on the subject.
1. What are some essential classic books that everyone should read at least once in their lifetime? Yikes...I admit I don't really read classics. I read them in school but that was it for the most part. According to my google search, a classic book is at least 50-100 years old. I know what everyone would consider classic books but perhaps we might have our own books that we would add to that list. I think Little House on the Prairie or even Anne of Green Gables should be classics. Books in a "classic book search"....Little Women, Adventures of Huckleberry finn, Tom Sawyer, Chronicles of Narnia, perhaps C.S. Lewis.
2. Monday September 22 is the first day of Autumn.
Would you make up a list for us of books that you think would make great Autumn reading? I think it's fun to read books that are seasonally or holiday themed. I thought surely I had read some autumn ones but now can't find them on my Goodreads, so maybe I haven't. I guess I better start looking for some. I enjoy cozy mysteries...they are light hearted and there are many centered around the autumn months (I apparently just haven't read them yet). I would suggest:
The Cheese Shop Mysteries by Korina Moss
The Cheese Shop Mysteries by Korina Moss
Hometown Mysteries by Rosalie Spielman
Northwoods Mysteries by ANnie McEwen
Zen Goat Mysteries by Janna Rollins
Hometown Hardware Mysteries by Paula Charles
Other books:
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek
Someone Elses Bucket List by Amy T. Matthews
Sisters Under the rising Sun by Heather Morris
I'll stop there...haha.
3 What genre will we find most in your library? Sci Fi, Romance, adventure, biography, non fiction, mystery? I like a variety, the most popular would be cozy mysteries, and also normal mystery/thriller, nonfiction. What do you like most about the genre? With cozy mysteries, I just love that they are light hearted (yes even though someone dies), you feel like you could just jump right into the pages of the book and fit right in, make friends, etc. With regular mystery/thriller, I'm not sure why I'm drawn to them..lol. Nonfiction, I just enjoy growing and learning. I have a variety of other genres as well both on my kindle and my physical bookshelf.
4 What book would you like to see made into a movie? I think Sisters Under the Rising Sun would be a great movie, or The Bookwoman of Troublesome Creek, or The Giver of Stars Any idea on who should be cast in the roles? There are so many who would possibly be great. Jamie Lee Curtis, Uma Thurman, Meryl Streep, not sure on the younger ones who'd fit or the men..I'm not a huge movie watcher.

I like thrillers because they are so fast moving, but I like psychological thrillers and not mystery thrillers. Loved your answers! Have a nice week.

The first books I really enjoyed were the Trixie Belden Mysteries. Based on what you said about the classics, I would say Gone with the Wind! I like series books!
