Tuesday Four...The Warm Months

The Warm Months

Warmer days

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

Spring has come and Summer is approaching. Our friend Linda tells me the temps in Florida are already in the 90s and humidity through the roof.  But days are grow\ing longer for everyone.  How does it effect you?

1.Daylight is getting longer... what do you do with the extra daylight? I love extra daylight, even if I'm inside....it just feels different. I feel more motivated, not like I should go to bed. I will usually take advantage of more daylight and go for walks early in the morning or in the evening. I will stay out a little later to do things, but not on weekdays when I still go to bed fairly early because I get up early.  Is it useful, productive or not? It is really good for my mental capacity. I do much better and feel much better when there is more light outside. When we're on vacations, I feel like we get to see and do more when the days are longer.

2.  If you live where its more moderate do you spend more time outdoors? I definitely spend more time outside than I would if our temps were on the extreme sides of too hot or cold. The 70's and low 80's are my happy place. Above that and it's just not fun. If you live in the tropical climate does it keep you inside?
Does the extra day light cause more heat and more use of utilites for you? Hmmmm...I guess I've never completely paid attention to that, but probably not. We use way more heat and lights in the winter because it's colder, darker and we're inside more.

3. How do you cool your home? Thankfully we have AC and a few ceiling fans. We also have portable fans for other rooms. In early mornings or evenings, we will often open the windows and then close them when it gets warm.  How do you cool yourself off in the heat of the day? Staying inside the AC...haha. Drinking some cold water. If I'm working outside in the yard, I will take the hose and run cold water down my arms or on my legs. Get in our cold plunge tub.

4. Do you enjoy a good barbeque outside in the warmer months or do you cook outside and eat inside? I do love a good BBQ but we don't have a grill at the moment so I don't do much of that. I normally use a gas grill.
What foods do you enjoy on the barbeque? Chicken, burgers, hot dogs, corn. I've also done pizza on the grill, sliced potatoes in foil (a family fave), and veggies in a grill basket. When we had a grill, I used it a lot.   If you don't barbeque, what foods  and drinks do you enjoy in the warmer months?

Just a few things I've grilled. The pizzas were so good.

Kirstin

  1. We’ve never grilled pizza - sure look delicious. I much prefer 70-85 tops! To me perfect summer weather. I live where we have very hot summers now, and I’m not impressed.

    1. IT's fun to grill pizza, but sometimes it's tricky to get it cooked without burning it or having it doughy

  3. It seems like we're very similar in how more daylight makes us feel and in our love of moderate temperatures. I wish I had more tolerance for hotter or cooler so it would be easier to travel and enjoy other places more but am grateful I don't live in a much hotter climate. Our summers are getting hot enough. Your grilling looks very tasty. Enjoy.
