Summer Books
It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and learning about yourself and other bloggers. The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.
I love the picture for this weeks theme. So cute.
Will you be reading this coming summer? I read all year long. When the weather gets hot and humid so many stay indoors to keep cool and studies show that people read more in the summer. How about you? I don't think I read more in summer compared to any other time. Our summers here are mild so we don't necessarily spend more time indoors. Let's discuss it.
1. Do you have a favorite kind of book that you like in the summertime? Nope. I honestly don't read differently at different times of the year. Or at least I haven't thought about it. I actually do this more in winter. I look for "Christmas" or "fall" themed books. Not so much with spring or summer. What kind is it? Mystery? Bio?... I suppose it would be fun to read books that have a summer theme. I'm a cozy mystery fan, and I like clean romance. So maybe ones set in summer, or at a beach, maybe with "summer foods" or fairs in them. Maybe that take place in a cabin or resort.
2. Is there a book you return to again and again and if so why? No, not really. If it's a non fiction book I might go back to reference it for a quote or thought, but other than the Bible, I don't re-read books. I really never re-read fiction books.
3. What book is better than the movie and what movie is better than the book?? I don't think I can answer this one. I haven't read too many books that were made into movies. I think I enjoyed watching Little Women more than reading it. I know I've watched movies that were based off books, but I hadn't read the books. I loved the movie A Man Called Otto, which was based off the book A Man Called Ove, and I think there was another movie with the name of the book. I'm not sure. I have read a few books recently that I know have movies that I'd like to watch. The Glass Castle and Hillbilly Elegy.
4. Do you have a list of books you are looking forward to reading this summer? My list hasn't changed, in that I have the same list the whole year. I always see people who have a stack of summer reading books. My schedule doesn't change when summer comes. I still work the same amount of time. Maybe take a vacation but I don't necessarily read more than I normally do. I think if I was a teacher and had summers off, then maybe I would spend more time reading.

I think I read more in the winter months when I snuggle up with a good book. We watched A Man Called Otto and it was really good. We also watched Nonna on Netflix, and it was really good too!
