Taking in Life Around Me......#Sundaystills
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
This week our theme is the monthly color theme. I'm glad I popped over to Terris blog before I started the post because she adjusted the schedule and I would've been "off", thankfully I have some pics for this months theme of pastels. Many from our recent trip to the gulf coast of Florida.
BUT first, since I didn't realize there was a change until today (Tuesday), I will share a few pics that I intentionally took with the thought of the number 4.
This top one could kind of be for both themes...pastel and the number 4...4 floors. I think it's the parking garage of our hotel in Tampa..the colors might be a bit bright for pastel but I think colors are subject to interpretation.
4 bikes lining the sidewalk waiting to be rented.
4 points on the sign that made me go hmmmm, as I walked along the designated walking path on the Tampa waterfront.
4 points on this trees design. Pretty neat looking.
Now onto the pastels. We just got back from Florida which is part of why this post is even later than it usually is!
How about this creamy matcha latte in a pretty pastel green. At the end of our trip my hubby had a conference so I spent my free time doing whatever I wanted. I tried to spend time reading. Of course I enjoyed coffees from this kiosk in the hotel, but one day just wanted a matcha latte. So yummy.
One of the places we stopped, Armature works had this super cute flower truck and these little pieces were on one of the tables. Aren't they pretty!
At Paradeco Coffee in St. Petersburg, I spotted this wall behind their roaster.
A mixture of pastels and a bit bolder colors, but they are so pretty together. I took this out of the car window...otherwise I would have went up and took a pic with it.
So many of the houses were pastel colored. It was amazing to see how many places were still struggling to come back or be rebuilt after the hurricane last fall. They have tried so hard to get back up and running as quick as possible, but many haven't been able to.
Absolutely loved this dolphin mural on one of the hotels. My hubby actually spotted a dolphin in the water while we were on Anna Maria Island.
How about some pastel sunsets...at least towards the top! This was looking across from Ruskin over to St. Petersburg.
Back at home, these pastel frosting cakes were fun. I made the top one for a friends baby shower, and the bottom is our granddaughters 4th birthday cake.

DeleteHi Kirstin! I love all those pastel colored beach homes and buildings. I'm glad you checked my page for the changes to the theme schedule. I also shared that info in two blog posts. My Dad's passing and subsequent services in Arizona was the reason for the changes. I like your Number 4 images. I might start doing some number challenges in the future. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you Terri.
DeleteGreat pictures from Florida. It’s not hard to find pastel colors there!
ReplyDeleteThe cakes are wonderful. Especially the 4th birthday one.
And what a gorgeous sunset.
Hope you are enjoying being back home again.
Thank you. Right...pastels everywhere. I am happy to be back home
