Taking in Life Around Me.....Sunday Stills

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me

This weeks theme is "flight". I haven't gotten out much with my camera lately. The weather hasn't been the greatest and I just haven't had the time. I did find some in my archives that were fun, and I love going on a search for photos.

Did you know that, at least on the iphone, if you use the search bar in photos and type a word, like "flight, flying, bird," etc..it will bring up photos that it thinks relates to that word. Pretty cool.

Last December we took our granddaughter to see Disney on Ice. It was such a fun time. Check out these guys flying through the air during Aladdins portion of the program.

It is so fun pushing grandkids on swings, especially when they yell higher, higher. As long as they don't go "flying" off.

During our Great Columbia Crossing walk in 2023 this Coast Guard helicopter made a few fly-by's. It was interesting to see them making rounds, and all along the river and bridge were people in boats and jet skis....I guess in case someone decided to jump off the bridge? It would have to be intentional because you can't really accidentally fall off unless you were being dumb and climbing on the side.

Before any flight, I try and stop at the Portland Coffee Roasters kiosk in the Portland Airport.

A few years ago we visited the San Juan Islands. Float or sea planes were everywhere. I caught this one landing. So fun.

Lately I prefer to be in an aisle seat, but if I'm in a window seat, I love looking at the scenery outside the windows. I'm not a huge fan of flying, but it gets me places I want to go, so I do it.

Last year my daughter had her coffee cart at a private air strip and it was fun watching planes and helicopters fly in. Indy came with us a few times and enjoyed it.

It's always fun catching birds in flight. They are stunning!

A mural in I believe Anacortes.

How about a throwback to planes in the 70's. My FIL and my hubby . Probably flying to Indiana.

My dad loved building model airplanes. It was fun flying them.

I also loved building them. I don't konw what happened to anything I built.

Air museum near Tillamook, Oregon. So many neat old aircraft.

Wonderful play on words of flight, Kirstin! Air travel is always fun to photograph. Love your eagle in flight! Enjoy your week!

  2. Great photo essay! I especially love the aerial views from the airplane window. Fun to see the vintage 1970s cabin too. As you know, I went with a similar theme. Thanks for checking it out!
