Tuesday Four: Spring has Sprung

Spring has Sprung

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

It's been a bit since I've participated. I've been a little pickier with posting because I don't like not getting around to commenting.

Spring has sprung as they say and sights and sounds of winter have given way to those of springtime. With each season even the feel of the sun and wind changes and people may also have a change of attitude or a change oe heart.

1. Many of my neighbors have chickens.  Have you ever raised them for fresh eggs or is the grocer your go to for them? I have never raised them. I do get them from a local gal and have gotten locally sourced eggs for quite a few years. I'll buy them from the store if I need to, but prefer not to. If  I get them from the store, I try to get pasture raised. Also.. would the sound of a neighbor having them bother you? No, I wouldn't mind the sounds if my neighbors had them. A few of our neighbors down the road have them, and I actually enjoy hearing them.

2.  How does the change in seasons effect you personally? I do much better "mood wise" when the days are longer and there are more blue skies...however, I have learned ways to combat the winter blues. I used to find myself getting a cold at each season change, but that hasn't happened i awhile. Are you happier in some seasons , do allergies get to you, do you perk up or down due to weather?  I don't really have allergies, though at times certain things can affect me. Too much rain and gray skies can get to me.

3.   This week our youngest family member is in France.  She will see Paris, Provence, the Riviera, all very exciting for a young teen. Most of us don't ever do anything that big...but even the smallest things can have a big effect on  us.  What experience  do you think stands out  most for you in your memory? Oh boy..I'm really not sure. We've taken a lot of trips, but I really loved our times of traveling to Central Oregon with our girls as they were growing up for family vacations. I did love going to Cabo with our girls, son in law and grandkids.

4.  What do you look forward to in each of the year's seasons?

Spring: In spring, I love seeing things come to life. Trees blooming, flowers peeking up from the ground, hearing the birds and frogs. I can do without so much rain, but LOVE the days when the sky is blue and it's a bit warmer.

Summer: I obviously love summer for our weather (thankful it rarely gets too hot). I love the long days. I look forward to doing more outdoors, hiking, just being outside. I'm looking forward this year to visiting my aunts in Ohio in June, celebrating my MIL's birthday in July (and also our grandsons bday). Summer just means fun.

Fall: I absolutely love the warm days, chillier nights. I love the changing colors of the leaves and working at the pumpkin patch. This fall, we're thinking of traveling to Colorado for a week.

Winter: Our winters here in SW Washington state are wet, and not usually with snow. However, with that said, I do love decorating for Christmas and will do it as soon as I can. It helps offset the gloominess  that comes with rain and darker days. I love Christmas. Baking, being with family. Once the holiday is over, it's just dealing with dreary days until spring comes. I always hope we'll get some snow!

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  2. It sounds like you have an exciting Summer coming up. Where are you going to visit in Ohio? I used to live in the Cleveland area, and my boys, daughter-in-law, and grandson still live there. When we head to Pennsylvania for the summer, we will be closer to them, as they are only a two-hour drive away. My grandson’s birthday is in July as well. How fun for us!
    Take good care, my friend.
