Tuesday Four and Wednesday Hodgepodge

This week I'm combining Tuesday Four with Wednesday Hodgepodge. I'm on vacation but am going to see if I can get them answered in my downtime. I'm still working my way to comment on everyones from last week.

Question Variety

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

This week just a variety of little questions for you to ponder.

 1. What's on TV for you tonight?  I'm not a huge TV watcher though there are shows I like. We did not watch anything Tuesday. We are on vacation and were out and about. We did watch a movie Monday though...called "On Fire". It was pretty good. Alternatively do you have plans for Tuesday night? Like I said, we are on vacation in Florida...well, 3 days vacay and 3 days work for hubby...Tuesday we drove to Clearwater Beach and then St. Petersburg. It was fun.

2. Is there a TV program you hate to miss? I love When Calls the Heart but I usually watch it after it airs (like the next day). Why? It's sweet, clean and I just enjoy it.  And if not TV is there a club or activity, get together you would hate to miss out on? I don't like missing out on my book club or if the work gals get together.

3.  Do you belong to any clubs or societies or organizations?  I'm part of an in person book club and a pass along book club with ladies all over the U.S. Odd Fellows, Elks, Moose, Eastern Star of anything like that?  Nope, not at the moment. Can you tell us about it?

4. The internet is filled with ads. Are there any ads that you enjoy seeing or ones that you hate to see? Ads drive me nuts, especially if they are ones based off what I just searched for. Lately I'm seeing a TON for Biome or ones that are for cortisol. I HATE political ads.

It's time for Wednesday Hodgepodge with Joyce, who blogs at From This Side of The Pond.  Each week she'll pose some questions for us to answer. What a great way to journal life.

1. My very first edition of The Wednesday Hodgepodge was published on November 10, 2010 (linked here if you're curious). Tell us something about your life from that era. Oh boy! I had to go back to some past blog posts to see what was up. It's fun going back to see whatwas happening in life. I was still a stay at home mom, homeschooling, soccer was a HUGE part of life. I was blogging quite a bit, though not every day. We had just started on the next phase of building our house (which we finally completed in 2022). I was doing some book reviews (can't remember how I got hooked up with those). We were still very active with our church. Probably so much more. I'm going to keep going back and seeing what I posted about...no time today, we're checking out of our airbnb in a bit.

2. What's a song you love that relates to time in some way? Oh man. There are several I really like...Time after Time by Cyndi Lauper came to mind first. Yesterday by The Beatles is another favorite.

3. May is nearly upon us. When did you last need to yell 'MAY DAY-MAY DAY!!'? Last night actually...we got back to our airbnb condo and at 11:00 the smoke alarm went off in the unit saying "Fire fire"...and not quietly...there was no smoke, no fire, and it wouldn't stop...so we disconnected it and I messaged the owner (who lives 1 1/2 hours away). I didn't get to sleep til midnight. All these thoughts going through my head. Not fun.

4. How do you feel about food trucks? LOVE a good food truck. Is this a dining experience you enjoy?  YES. We enjoy going to food trucks. We will usually look them up and check reviews, but for the most part have never had a problem with any of them. Do you have a favorite? Not necessarily. What's something you've ordered from a food truck? Italian Cutlet Sandwich, smoothie bowls, street tacos or other Mexican foods.

5. We're bidding farewell to April...what are three adjectives you might use to describe the month you're leaving behind. Adventurous as we are ending the month in Florida for work (hubby) and pleasure (for three days). Changing..our season is slowly heading out of mostly rain and into warmer, dry days..also we are making changes to have our daughter and son in law and family up on our property for a few months. Delightful...it was a good month of celebrating Easter, and just some nice time with friends and family.

6. Insert your own random thought here. As I mentioned above, we are in Florida this week so I'm making this a quick post. I'll share more next week. It's been a nice time though. My random thought....I could NOT live in Florida. Phew....it's hot...and it's only April....okay, I suppose I could live anywhere, you would learn to adjust.

I'll just share one photo of one of the sunsets.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. It's 80 here today and humid. I am not a fan of humidity, but we have the lake which helps. And air conditioning : ) I like Florida but wouldn't want to live there full time. Hope you've had a nice getaway!

    1. We've had a great time. If I had a lake near by or shade, it would be helpful. I suppose anywhere you live that has high heat, etc..you just learn to adapt..when to go out, when to stay in.

  3. I don't think I could live in Florida either although it was almost 80 degrees here today which is crazy for 1st May. Enjoy the rest of your vacation.

  4. So you picked the Beatles too. That had to be scary with that fire alarm going off. Glad you enjoy those food trucks. Sounds yummy. How nice to be on a trip with your husband. Enjoy your company. Yes, the humidity is not fun at all. That's we're my sister lives.

    1. It was more annoying than scary because there wasn't something obvious.

  5. I don't think I could live in Florida either but from what I can see there is such spectacular scenery there. Maybe there is a place in Florida that isn't quite as hot and humid. I enjoyed reading your answers for Tuesday 4 and for Hodgepodge. I know so many women who enjoy When Calls the Heart yet I've never watched it for some reason. Enjoy the rest of your week.

  6. Enjoyed reading your answers to two different sets of questions! I hope the rest of your vacation goes well- being near the water is always so nice. I would love to live in Florida someday... in the winter preferably. Your time songs are so good! Soccer was a huge part of my life (with my kids) but it was definitely after 2010. Enjoy the rest of your vacay and safe travels home!

  7. What an awesome photo!! That's a beautiful view - enjoy!! Loved your answers today. That Cyndi Lauper song was one of my favorites back in the day, and I think my life was sort of similar to yours back in 2010, just on the opposite coast. Hope you're having a great week and fabulous vacation!

  8. What a gorgeous photo of the Florida Sunset. The Florida humidity is hard to reckon with. I live in the desert and enjoy our arid climate but leave for Pennsylvania when the heat turns up.
In 2010 I was still teaching and loved it.
And now, here I am retired and I love that too.
Enjoy the rest of your vacation.
    Happy May!

  9. Hi Kirstin, I could never live in Florida, either. Not only because of the weather but I love seeing mountains! It's too flat for me. Hope you got home safely. Happy May to you!
