Taking in Life Around Me....#SundayStills Shades of Green

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

This weeks theme is shades of greens. I will say that as much as I have a hard time picking a favorite color, green is at the top. I've always loved it. Plus, I have the unique feature of having green eyes. My dads eyes were blue and my moms were brown. Mine were blue for awhile but then turned green. I have always liked my eyes. When Saint Patricks Day rolled around and I forgot to "wear" green, I used my eyes as a back up. "You're not wearing green!".."Yes, I am...my eyes".

The colors in Switzerland were stunning. I love the various hues in these photos.

Green on the grape vines at my aunts vineyard. I love walking up and down the rows.

When we were in Hawaii last February I would go for a walk every morning and this was my favorite tree..I love the reflection I caught in the water.

More Hawaii green...this was just past the entrance to the jurassic lands or whatever it's called. We pulled off to take some pictures.

The green at the farmers market!! So beautiful.

Various shades of green at the Butchart Gardens.

The wildlife love when my grass is green and un-mowed. Haha!

At a recent home and garden show I snapped a few photos. Some very unique displays.

I can't wait to do this puzzle. I found it at a thrift store. I hope all the pieces are here.

Sorry for the dusty leaves, but I love the variegated leaves on my house plants.

Green bottle from my aunts vineyard, now housing fairy lights.

I went outside today to see what I could find...found this little starting coming out of one of my cedars. It will be interesting to see it grow and what it does.

Stinging nettles beginning to come up. Do you do anything with them? I tried making tea once but it didn't taste right, I think you have to pick them when they're new. I know friends who've used it for soup. I DO NOT recommend brushing against them with bare skin.

Ferns growing out of trees is a favorite thing for me. I love seeing them. Along with the moss.

Two of my favorite things in our home are the green wall in our living room and our granite  countertops which have green throughout them. The bottom photo was a fun one we took at our cooking class we had at our house. These were the teams. My daughter and I in the middle were the captains.

Quite a few years ago I snapped a photo of my eye and added a quote to it. It was during a really hard transition in our lives and this quote was so fitting.

Depending on my mood and what I wear will depend on the shade of green they are. Oh, and how about the green in my glasses.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin
