The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.
Would you like to talk about some blasts from the past?
You know.. like malt shops, teen hops, proms and rock and roll? OK, let's do it!
1. Was there a teen hangout in your town or near it where teens seemed to gravitate? Well, I'm sure there were many teen hangouts, however many I did not frequent. What was a favorite place to go? My group of friends hung out at youth group, HS games and at the local truck stop where we'd often go in the evenings to eat, and hang out. I know, real exciting. But we had a fun group of people and we loved hanging out. We'd also hang out at one of our friends house who had a pool.
2 Did you attend your high school varsity games? Yes, I was in the pep band and on the drill and dance teams so I was at almost every game, and I was part of the pep club. What high school activities did you enjoy the most? I loved being in band and on the drill and dance teams. I really enjoyed being on the yearbook staff. I found this drill team picture. I'm on the far left.
3. Did you have any teen idols whose music or acting you just really enjoyed? Well, I really liked Andy Gibb and Sean Cassidy (when I was younger). In HS I really liked Patrick Swayze. I also thought Scott Baio was cute and I liked the shows he was in. I'm sure there are more. What music did you enjoy most? I mostly listened to 80's pop and Christian music. I had a wide taste in music and still do. My playlists are pretty eclectic. It would be fun to make an 80's playlist with all the songs I liked. What movies? Hmmm...Dirty Dancing, Red Dawn, E.T., Footloose to name a few.
4. Did your school have dances or sock hops and did you attend? We did and I did, usually with a group of girlfriends and we just had fun together. I did go to a few Tolo's and one prom. I wanted to go dig and look for pics but didn't have time and it's pretty early morning and I didn't want to wake anyone up. I found two quickly though. Now I want to go digging through my photos...ha! I wish I could've found more. I know of at least two more that I have somewhere.

Wonderful photos! I had forgotten about Red Dawn and how popular it was with everyone. I have eclectic taste in music as well with everything from classical to blue grass. Thanks so much for joining in!
