Wednesday Hodgepodge
2. What's the boldest piece of clothing in your wardrobe? I don't think I own a bold piece of clothing. One time I remember my friends mom requested everyone wear purple to her memorial service. I am not a fan of purple but found a shirt with a variety of colors that I kind of liked. That was probably the boldest thing I had.
3. Do you think common interests or common values are the key to people getting along? Elaborate. ooohhh that's a tough one. I think if we have common values it's easier to get along, but with that said, we should be able to have differences and still sit at the table together. Now are we just talking about relationships in general, or closer ones like a significant other or close family? I think when it comes to a significant other, I think common values are a HUGE key. Most of my values haven't changed, while my interests have over time...and I think it's okay to have some interests that are different...sometimes those things encourage us to step out and try or learn something new or just be okay with the other liking some things that we may not. But values, if the difference in values is too great, then I think it can sometimes only cause chaos in a relationship.
4. November 6 is National Nacho Day...do you like nachos? I love nachos. How do you like yours? It depends...sometimes at home I just put cheese, but I've also loaded them up with meat, olives, beans, etc...I'm not a fan of "fake cheese" sauce...if it's gonna be a sauce, it better be with real stuff. Do you make them at home or only order out? Usually loaded nachos we eat them out, but I have made them at home as well.
5. Have you spent any time in Washington D.C.? I have never been to Washington DC. I would like to go though. If so what did you think? If not, is that a place you'd like to visit? I think I would like to visit..mostly historical sites or out of the way places. What do you think about politics as a career choice? No thank you! Haha.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I'm hoping to take down my fall decor today...I know, it's barely November, and I would probably leave it up longer because I actually like how it all looks this year, BUT my family, including me, LOVES Christmas and we want to enjoy it as long as possible...so, fall will come down and hopefully in the next week I can decorate for Christmas.
Hubby and I are going out of town this weekend for a few night as a late anniversary get a way so I have quite a bit to accomplish today on my day off. Hopefully I can be motivated and focused.
We (my two daughters and another friend and I) are also taking my granddaughter to see Disney on Ice tomorrow night in Portland. She doesn't know. She's almost 4 and we think she's going to love it. We are hoping that with election results as they are, there won't be any rioting in the city. Both in 2016 and 2020 there was a lot of unrest and rioting and you didn't feel safe going into the city..sometimes you still don't feel safe because the homeless situation has gotten out of hand. I'll report next week how it all went.
I'm also hoping to get things accomplished so I can catch up with blog comments on other blogs...I have been so behind on all of this.
Have a great rest of the week friends.
Safe Travels to you Kirstin. My oldest son is in the National Guard, and standby was the command they had received. Continuing to pray for peace and unity in our divided nation.
ReplyDeleteI too, do not have anything bold to wear. Hee Hee, had to say my bathrobe with it's polka dots.
Enjoyed reading your answers! Your trip away sounds really nice. Agree with you completely on number 3! Well said. I hope you all love Disney on Ice. It sounds like fun! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWell I hope you enjoy Disney on Ice and the city stays orderly. Enjoy your anniversary trip too! Sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteSo far it sounds quiet as far as reactions from the election. Maybe that is because they are in shock. I hope you have a wonderful time at the show in Portland! Also, enjoy your anniversary weekend away!
ReplyDeleteI just put a few fall items up over the weekend! I am so rigid. I won’t do Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving and since Thanksgiving is my 2nd favorite holiday I try and give it enough time to honor it. I won’t even play Christmas music until after TG.
ReplyDeleteI’m actually trying to minimalize most holidays these days so I can truly observe the holiday in a more meaningful way.
