Taking in Life Around Me.....#SundayStills Theme: Black and White

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

This weeks theme is our monthly color challenge and that color is black and/or black and white. I decided to have a bit of fun and change some photos I had to black and white.

The first two I decided to download an app that turned photos into sketches...the first one is our living area, and the second, our grandkids.

I felt like making this screenshot of a pasta making video black and white was very fitting.

I finally got around to decorating for fall and got a few white pumpkins. If I had thought ahead of time, I would have taken time to take photos of all my white ones, but, there is a list of things to do and I didn't want to take things apart. Haha!

At the grand opening of our towns new library Star Wars characters were visiting...Darth vader and storm troopers.

Playing around with turning photos to BW....is always fun...I don't have the ability or know how on how to do the slider thing, but that's okay...the above was taken at the beach last month, and while the color version is pretty, this BW is kind of moody and cool.

Old truck at one of the farms we visited on the Hood River Fruit Loop.

I love white buildings..the above is in the Columbia Gorge and called the Gorge White House. Such a neat place to visit.

This is the town hall in Seabrook, Wa. Such a neat community!

Another photo I decided to do in BW.

Mt. Goat at the Oregon zoo!!

I spotted this statue while visiting Vancouver Island, Canada. I told my hubby this would be me someday, sitting on a bench just reading.

My grandson was pretty excited to sit in this helicopter.

When I visit my aunt in Ohio, we pass by this barn often, and just love it. I think it would make a neat event venue.

Had some fun playing with the Olympic mountains.

I thought this old cabin needed to be in BW because it is so old (built in 1888), color wasn't even around.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

Lots of great pics in this post, Kirstin! Your b&w photos turned out well and I like the filter effects you used, too. The image compare feature is on WordPress, not sure if you have that on your platform. Have a great week!

  2. Wow, you really have some great shots! I like how some are scenically beautiful while some are neat because they tell a story. I love the black and white beach one!
