Tuesday Four.....Autumn

Happy Autumn

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have idea.

Sunday September 22 is the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of the Autumn season.  Let's talk about it okay?

1. Are there pumpkins or chrysanthemums on your porch or are you planning on putting some out?  Not yet, but I will be getting some in the coming weeks. My son in laws family owns a pumpkin patch and I always get some from them. I will also get some fall flowers to add to my porch. People come from all over to visit their patch. It's been going for over 30 years!

2. What seasonal changes are you noticing in your part of the world?
Right now in the PNW mostly just some leaves falling. Colors haven't changed much and our temps are still pretty warm. However, I will say that the mornings and evenings are cooler and the warmer portion of the day is shorter.  What would you add or take away? I would like to add more fall colors! We'll start getting rain and I don't enjoy that at all.

3. Is pumpkin pie on the menu for you this fall? It might be, but I actually don't like pumpkin pie so I'll pass. I prefer pecan or apple. How about pumpkin spice or pumpkin latte coffee flavors? Are you a fan?  I like them, but I don't often order them. Spiced teas? I like a pumpkin spice chai. That is good. What do you like?     I've been drinking a maple vanilla white mocha, and I love cardamom white mochas as well.

4. If there was a free week long tour of New England, complete with peak colors and a trip to Plimouth, Massachusetts (the colony site with historical players), would you come along? Totally! We actually did a 10 day NE England Trip in 2022 and LOVED it. We followed a fall foliage map to help us decide when to visit the different states. I wrote a series of posts on it if you need some reading and want to enjoy a virtual trip. We started and ended in Boston, making our way up Maine, across and down, before heading back to Boston. The first two pics below were taken in Plimoth/Plymouth. We didn't visit the Plimoth settlement site. The other two were in Vermont. If that doesn't suit, where would you like to go for your Autumn trip?

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Hello Kirstin, I enjoyed all your photos. Autumn is such a beautiful time of year. I'm with you on adding more colours to the PNW though I neglected to mention that part in my post, lol. I do love looking at the colourful pumpkins and squash. I just don't decorate with them though when I lived in the east I did decorate with dried corn which came in a variety of colours.
