Taking in Life Around Me....#SundayStills Theme: Brown
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. It's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.
This weeks theme is our monthly color challenge and the color is brown. We're on a trip to Leavenworth, Washington and I was hoping to include some photos that I've taken while here, but so far I've only taken a few and I hate waiting too long after Sundays to post so I'm going for some past photos as well.
Driftwood "wind chime" in the woods in Seabrook, Wa. This was taken while the grandkids and I were exploring the gnome trail, which was so fun.
How pretty is this piece of artwork I spotted in the Portland Airport. I love the mixes of browns. I shared a little about it on last weeks Weekend Coffee Share.
Isn't this S'more pretty? At a recent event I went to with my oldest daughter there was a vendor who made S'mores. Every aspect is made from scratch. The marshmallows are seared with a food grade "torch". It was so good.
One of our stops before getting to Leavenworth was an awesome fruit stand and gift shop. I spotted this tree laden with brown leaves. The sun was shining through the leaves towards the back, making them appear yellow.
We're in Leavenworth to celebrate our 31st anniversary. The host of the airbnb left us a box of local chocolates. They're so good.
I thought the bark on this tree was pretty cool. in the photo it looks a bit red, but it is brown.
Throwing in a few photos from Europe 2019...these bells hung in a building where a guy was making cheese.
I'm not sure I'd want to live in this house. So crazy that so many of them are standing after hundreds of years.
On San Juan Island at the sculpture garden, these three Orca Whale sculptures were created out of Western Red Cedar and depict members of the southern resident orcas.
I loved this sculpture. Taken in Friday Harbor.
This door in Kennebunkport, ME caught my eye! So pretty!

Wow, so many gorgeous images highlighting the vast shades of brown, Kirstin! Happy 31st wedding anniversary! Was Leavenworth very busy? My faves are your fireplace and those chocolates!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous array of photos featuring the colour brown! I liked the artwork and the man with dog statue especially. And those chocolates look delicious. Happy 31st anniversary to you and your husband. Thanks for visiting The Doglady's Den. Cheers! 🥂
ReplyDeleteYou have so many wonderful brown pictures. :) I love your fireplace, so warm and inviting. And that s'more looks fabulous! It's been too long since I've had one!
ReplyDeleteI started thinking at the start, that's my favourite photo but then that just dissipated into a "wow" and "I like that" or "that's my favourite" as I went along. So no favourites as I love them all Kirstin 🤗
ReplyDeleteA wonderful selection of browns, Kirstin. They're all fabulous 🤎 The s'more looks very naughty 😉 and the chocolates look divine...my weakness. Hope you had a lovely anniversary.
