Tuesday Four: Fall Traditions and memories
Fall Traditons & Memories
1. What is your opinion of Halloween? I don't really care for it. I don't mind the cute costumes, trick or treating, and having fun, but I do not like the evil that is portrayed or the scary, creepy decorations, movies and costumes.
2. Memories are important. Some of them are seasonal good times. What fall memories and traditions can you share with us? Fall isn't that big of a deal for us. I love to decorate, but it's minimal. I like the coziness, making pumpkin muffins, scones, etc...but we don't go all out. The pumpkin patch wasn't something we ever went to as a family, though we did go a few times. My son in laws family owns a pumpkin patch and I often think "okay, we need to get everyone together for the hayride, corn maze", etc..but I think because it's been in the family for so many years, it's not really a big deal to anyone...haha! I LOVE working at the patch though.
We do all gather for Thanksgiving. Usually with my inlaws, and nephews, and there are often a few others around the table who don't have places to go. My MIL loves cooking and hosting. This year we are having it at our house, but she will still come up and help with most of it. She loves to do that, but we felt we needed more room.
3. Stews, soups and chili dishes warm the tummy on chilly fall days. Have you a good recipe to share for a good fall dish? I LOVE soups in fall. I always make at least one a week. One favorite and easy one, is this tomato tortellini soup. SO good! It's a favorite of everyone. I have quite a few soup recipes on my "from my kitchen" tab, and also on Pinterest.
4. Fall is football season. Are you a fan of any teams? Do you watch games? I don't really watch it. I end up watching the Superbowl, but that's it. Since I live in Washington, I always like when the Seahawks play well. I prefer watching soccer.
I do not like the evil that goes with Halloween either, but I don't really know anyone that does that part of it. I think most people I know are just about the fun part of it. It is sad that there is such evil that goes along with it. Loved your answers! Have a nice week! ♥

Thank you for visitin gLori.
DeleteYes, the dark and evil side of Halloween has to go. I think the real beginnings of the day to remember martyrs etc has been all but forgotten. Thank you so much for joining in.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Annie. I get that people don't always agree with me, but man, how can promoting all the horror and evil things be satisfying or enjoyable. Yuck.
