Taking in Life Around Me....#Sundaystills Theme: Fences

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from
Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

This weeks theme is fences! Fences have many purposes...they can be decorative, for safety, to keep animals with it's boundaries. Fences can also be made of various materials. Here's what I've got.

I'll be taking a break the next few weeks. I'm doing a 10k race next Sunday and then heading to Ohio for a week to be with family. I'll see you hopefully back on the 23rd, or I may skip the rest of October. We'll see. But I'll for sure be back in November.

I loved the fence along this walkway going out across the water in Plymouh, MA.

Pretty red fence in Vermont, at the maple farm we visited.

At the maple farm we visited in Vermont, this chapel was in the woods. Loved the picket fence around it.

During our hike on the maple farm, this little "bridge" allowed you to bypass the barbed wire fence.

Okay, I know that technically this would be called a rock wall, but there is a "fence gate", but also, many properties were completely lined with these types of rock walls, even ones that were more "put together"...so kind of like a fence but of rock. I know, I know, that's stretching it.

Fence around a cottage garden in Switzerland.

I just loved the old homes in Europe.

Wrought iron fences in Venice.

There is a fence in front of the hedge that surrounds the cemetery at a church in Switzerland.

Driving in the town where my daughter lives, I spotted this fence. So fun.

While we were in Seabrook a few weeks ago, I was sure to snap some photos of some pretty fences.

I thought this fence and arbor at the lilac gardens was pretty and inviting.

This fence is down the street from my daughters house and I love how it curves.

While in Texas a few years ago, we fed lettuce to the giraffe, and below, just before the cattle drive in old town Ft. Worth.

Our December trip in 2010 to Sunriver, Oregon, brought over 2' of snow and we loved it...I think we ended up getting 4' while there. Loved the ice on the fences.

In Sunriver, Oregon, one of our favorite places. This is one of the barns at the stables and the fence that surrounds it.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin
