Taking in Life Around Me.....#Sundaystills Monthly color challenge: Yellow

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureIt's a great themed photography challenge that you'll enjoy. I love seeing the other participants interpretation of the theme each week...it causes me to think outside the box. I joined in hopes of it pushing me to get out and take more photos...I have to some degree, but I also like that Terri is okay with us finding photos in our archives, which is also a lot of fun. So check out my photos and then head over to Terri's page to participate or visit other's posts. There are some awesome contributors who always inspire me.

This weeks theme is our color challenge and the color is Yellow. I love the color yellow! There's just something about it that sparks joy.

This Forsythia was given to me by one of our neighbors. It sits on the outside of my blueberry enclosure.
In the spring when the first daffodils poke through the ground, I get so excited! I love spring flowers.
Tulips are some of my favorites! These were taken at our local bulb farm. Holland America Bulb Farm.

I don't remember what either of these flowers are (above and below). The flowers above were beautiful. I know I took a photo of what it was but can't remember. I loved it.

I bought the above plant at a new plant store that opened in the next town over from where my daughter lives. The owners are a mother and daughter pair, and their family owns a very popular nursery in our town, Tsugawa Nursery. They are the sweetest ladies, and I was excited to hear they opened their own shop. I love the yellow in these leaves.
I bought the above flowers for myself on Mother's Day because I was feeling a bit "sad", missing my mom and grandma, and we didn't really have plans for that day (which is really fine with me...I'm not stuck to a day), but I was having a few days of feeling a bit "blue".
Alright....I KNOW the flower above looks orange, but honest, when we were walking up to them, they truly looked a deep yellow, so I decided to just include it anyways.

The above flower is in one of my pots....it closes up at night, and opens up during the day.
Snapdragons are always a fun to have in pots, don't you agree?
I spied this flower while on one of our walks a few weeks ago. It had large leaves, and then off a long stem bloomed the flowers.
This leaf was just sitting on the road the other day on a walk...sign that fall is on the way?
The yellow on this ride that our grandson went on...he's the one with his hands up. He wanted to go on the ride by himself. Love the colors of the county fair rides.
My inlaws were on vacation for a few week and I was in charge of watering. These were just a few of her beautiful roses.
I had to include a few photos from Italy. Above Burano. Known for it's lace and colorful houses.
While on Lake Como, we visited Bellagio. So pretty. I loved this little cafe.
Sunflowers in a cottage garden in Switzerland.
Back to Venice....I just loved all the buildings.
Had to end this post with a photo from our New England State trip. So much yellow!

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Hooray for yellow...and yellow flowers are just some of the best. Especially forsythia which always remind me of my dad and have a special place in my heart! Hooray for the county fair and little guys who can ride all by themselves:) and for you, too, buying flowers for yourself. I love that. And I actually bought a tiny bouquet on Saturday at the farmer's market! Have a great week!
