Putting Fingers to Keyboard....#WQ Theme: Chaos/Disorder
This weeks theme is chaos/disorder. I am not a person who likes chaos and disorder, but I can function in chaos and disorder, and I really like creating order out of both of those.
The quotes I found this week, I thought were good food for thought.
I read that another term for cosmos is a system of thought, which could be interesting using that in the meaning of this quote. I'm not sure I fully agree with this quote. I do think chaos and disorder can have potential to be something more.
This was a chaotic mess, when we had about 3 trees fall across the hill going up to our house. My FIL got our chainsaw and while he cut, another gal and I threw the wood over the edge of the hill.
This was a good one. Chaos doesn't have to stay chaos. If we can see the opportunity that lies in it, and create order from it, how much better that would be.
This was a bit of a chaotic situation in NYC...My daughter got a horrible bloody nose our first morning there...so bad it wouldn't stop for over 15 minutes and was coming out her tear ducts. We had to get a cab to go a few blocks to the Urgent care. They cauterized her nose and we had no more problems.
New York City is just plain CHAOS...but I suppose it could be considered orderly chaos, but I couldn't live there. No thank you!!
YES!!! When we find ourself in the midst of chaos, whether self imposed, or let's say in situations like 2020, we can also use those times to "find ourselves". To take time to examine, to grow, to learn, to dig deeper into our own lives.
A natural situation that caused us much chaos, was a water leak in our original kitchen. It ended up working out because we replaced the floor in the kitchen and hall with the same flooring as our new kitchen and repainted the walls. HOWEVER, it was very inconvenient for several weeks.
I did learn to embrace this chaos and make the best of it, but boy, it wasn't always easy. We had no stove to use during the process, so relied on the crockpot for most meals.
This quote made me laugh. That is true...One never knows what they might find.
I have one closet that is always in disarray...I need to figure a way to get a better handle on it, but I just haven't figured it out yet. Above and below are two times when I pulled everything out to organize (I need to do it again). Ignore my foot in the bottom photo...I was showing my Birkenstocks that I was trying to break in for our trip to NYC in 2017

I feel (and see) your chaos! I think yours was worse than mine. I could clean up each day. Even though I did not have a stove, I had a microwave, crockpot, electric skillet, and restaurants and friends nearby! All in all it went quickly, but, like you, I'm glad to be moving away from the direction of chaos! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I don't enjoy chaos...maybe it's fine for a moment, but not daily. Yikes. How do people do it.
DeleteI don't know why the code didn't change, but I fixed it. Thanks for letting me know. I added your link to it.
ReplyDeleteThank you
DeleteLots of chaos going on there! I've never been to New York but just looking at it gives me anxiety! Bloody noses makes me cringe, because I remember getting a bad bang on my nose years ago and it's not nice! My mother had a nose bleed once that wouldn't stop until she had to have it cauterized. She said it was a very painful procedure.
ReplyDeleteMy girls have, for whatever reason, always gotten nose bleeds. I believe the doctor said the membrane in their noses are just very thin. Uggh.
