Tuesday Four.....Favorite things

A Few of My Favorite Things

It's time again for Tuesday 4 hosted by Anne from Cottage by the sea. Published each week in memory of Toni Taddeo, it's original author. We keep Toni Taddeo's original idea alive here with 4 questions each week to get you blogging, visiting and  learning about yourself and other bloggers.   The more people join in, the merrier and the better it gets. We are always looking for topics, subjects and ideas so feel free to chime in if you have ideas.

1. Do you have a favorite family recipe? I have several favorite family recipes.  Would you share it? Our own immediate family favorites are probably clam chowder and 4 cheese chicken fettucini. Passed down recipes, my mother in laws cheese and salsa dip for tortilla chips. My moms caramel corn recipe is a hit with everyone. As I look through my From my Kitchen tab, I see so many that we all love, and I need to make many of them again.

2. Do you have a favorite book? Oh boy, it is hard for me to have favorites. Current favorites (because as I read new ones, I'll have new favorites.) "Fierce, Free and Full of Fire" by Jen Hatmaker is a favorite. I read it in 2020 but so many good nuggets in there. Sometimes I can tell a book was a favorite by how many markings are in it...non fiction at least. I'm not sure I have a favorite fiction book. How about a movie? Princess Bride, Princess Diaries, Ever After just to name a few.  TV program? We used to nightly watch Little House on the Prairie with our girls. Loved The Mentalist, FlashPoint, Master Chef, Great British Baking show, Magnolia Table.

3. What is your favorite snack? Popcorn! I don't have it all the time, but I do love it. Coconut oil, salt and a little Nutritional Yeast. Favorite sandwich? Hmm...It depends...Grilled Cheese, BLT, Fish sandwich would be top faves.

4. What is your favorite color for  a home exterior...a car...a room ? House color all depends on the type of house, the area it's in, etc...I love our house color, but it fits our house. I'm not a fan of blue, but in a coastal town, blue is gorgeous. I lean towards neutrals, but have seen some awesome exteriors that were anything but neutral. I found these two photos quickly of our house. I am watching the grandkiddos this week and no time to delve in or try and take good pics of other wall colors.

Car...black, white, but I also LOVE some of the new muted colors I see on Toyotas and subarus.

Room: Again, it really depends. I do like neutrals because I feel like then you can easily change up decor. With that said, I love the walls in our home that have color on them. I feel like we chose colors though that you could have a variety of decor color, patterns, styles. I've seen some awesome black colored walls, but don't think I'd ever paint a wall black.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. I love the colours on the photos. So calming. We only have brick houses here, and we can't even decide about the colour of our door. Your house photo: wow! Wish I could live in a house like that! Enjoy the grandchildren!

    1. Thank you! I love brick houses. When we visited the NE states last year I was in love with all the brick.
