January 10 on the 10th..Would You Rather

Yay! I actually remembered about 10 on the 10th this month. This will be fun since it's a would you rather version. Marsha from Marsha in the Middle has been hosting.

Okay, some of these were interesting. I'm going to put my choice in another font color and then expound.

1. Would you rather make resolutions, select a word of the year or make bucket lists. I've never been good at resolutions and I don't really have a bucket list. I have selected a word of the year for the last 4 years and that has worked well.

2. Would you rather make memories on vacations or save for a big occasion (retirement, wedding, college, etc)..really, the answer would be both because they are all important. However, we never know what life holds, how long we'll have people in our lives, our kids will grow and have their own lives. We have worked hard at having a budget and jobs that allowed us to save for all of these, well, except college (our girls just got their AA's from community college), and retirement..that was our one "yikes" when we had a sudden "job change" from full time ministry (I mean we didn't think we'd retire) to another job that we have since started buckling down more. We have followed first Larry Burkett and then Dave Ramsey. We still follow a budget but always include saving for vacations or small trips.

3.  Would you rather buy all the things on sale or shop your closet? Oh boy..there's not much in my closet to shop from and I can't wear my daughters clothes otherwise I'd have a hayday. Can I shop someone else's closet? I literally wear things til they die, and my husband has more shoes than I do. Probably more clothes too.

4. Would you rather lose weight by fad dieting do it quickly or eat differently and lose slowly. I've never been a fan of fad dieting. I prefer to work hard at eating right and exercising.

5. Would you rather undergo some type of facial treatment or update a room in your home. Yah, I'm not much for spending a lot of money on treatments. I'd have more fun updating a room and using products at home on my face. I would maybe spend money on laser hair removal to get rid of those pesky chin hairs.

6. Would you rather watch Paul Hollywood or Ru Paul. That one was a no brainer for me!

7. Would you rather have to wear the same color all year or not wear that color at all. Am I the only one who overthinks this? I guess it depends on the color, because if it was purple...I'd be okay with not wearing that color at all.

8. Would you rather wear a designer look or a designer knockoff. I really could care less about designer names. If I like it great, but I also will not spend an arm and a leg on something. I've had things last forever from Walmart and I like shopping thrift stores, but I've also invested in something more expensive from time to time. My fave is when I find an expensive brand at the thrift store. SCORE!

9. Would you rather be overdressed or underdressed to a special occasion. That's another tough one. I think I'll say underdressed because it's all in the interpretation and I know I don't like being overdressed anyways. I suppose my personality would make sure I knew exactly how I was supposed to dress.

10. Would you rather have only neutral clothing or extremely colorful clothing. I've never worn very colorful clothing so I'll go with neutral that I can then add colorful items to.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. I've tried resolutions and I always end up disappointed because of a lack of follow through. Like you, I think a word of the year is way more doable and takes off a lot of the pressure.

I'm definitely an over dresser. I think it's because I was in the Army and now that I get to pick my clothes I have a lot of fun with it.

  2. So fun to read everyone's answers! I definitely cringe at the prices on designer clothes- I looked up a few for this prompt and saw one dress (maybe by Dior or Cocoa Channel) and it was SEVERAL THOUSAND dollars!! For a dress?? Never... nope.

    1. I know. Lots of fun. Ya, if I bought a designer dress I'd probably stain it

  3. I opted for underdressed as well. And neutral clothes. I am sort of all about neutrals right now with everything!

  5. I thought several of these were tricky...which could be me just overthinking them:) But our answers are so similar - I just should have had you do my post for me. LOL!! I don't really like to be underdressed...but, then again, exactly what does that mean?? Hope you are having a great week!

  6. I really like your answer to number 2 and number 3 made me laugh out loud. I need to clean out my closet. Itā€™s open for shopping! LOL Also, number 5...I definitely would redo a room over a facial treatment as well, but those pesky chin hairs really tempt me, too! So far, my $10 tweezers have handled the issue but my time in front the mirror hunting for the little bugger seems to take longer every time! Fun stuff! I really enjoy these posts.

    1. Well, it's the truth. I love clothes and always see cute ideas but never apply it to myself. Yes, tweezers and waxing my own facial hairs is what I do.
