Putting Fingers to Keyboard.....#WQW....Theme: Memorable Trips

It's another week of  Writer's Quotes Wednesday, hosted by Marsha from Always Write. If you're interested in joining, you can find more about #WQW here.

I decided to add a subtitle to my #WQW posts..."putting fingers to keyboard"..I do that with a few other of my link party posts and this came to me the other day.

This weeks theme is memorable trips. I think any trip no matter where it is, no matter how short or how long can be memorable, it's all in what we make of them.

I've taken two trips to Kelley's Island, Ohio to see family and they have become some of my most memorable trips. Not only remembering things from my childhood but sharing it my own family and spending quality time with my aunts and uncle. I hope on another trip I'm able to see some cousins.

Our trip to the NE States for our 30th wedding anniversary  was on our bucket list and it didn't disappoint. So many amazing colors. You can search the blog for "New England States Road Trip". I have 3 posts done so far.

In 2017 I took my youngest daughter to NYC for a graduation/18th birthday trip. We had a blast. I would love to go back again. We created many memories. One joke is that on the first day, I ended up with blisters all around the bottoms and sides of my feet. I plugged on and spent the next 6 days putting bandaids and popping blisters. There was no way I was going to miss out on anything sitting around nursing my blisters.

In 2018 we flew to Florida with our 2 month old grandson to celebrate my grandmas 90th birthday. She got to meet her great great grandson. What a special time.

Trips to the beach with family are always filled with memories. Playing games, walking the beach, just hanging out. Best of times.

Our 2019 trip to Italy and Switzerland was one for the books. I hope we'll get to go back to Europe or some other country again.

Orcas Island for an extended weekend was a much needed time of rest and reflection. It was a week after my dad passed away. I tried oysters in his honor and thought of him as we walked through the marinas and talked to fishermen. It was a time of hiking, reading, just relaxing.

One of our favorite trips to take anytime of year is to central Oregon, specifically Sunriver! It is a time to relax. No agenda, no big plans, just relax, hike, ride bikes, play games, do puzzles, etc. I'd own a house there if I could.

With Joy Unquenchable,

  1. What a great post, Kirstin. Such wise quotes. "Photos are a ticket to a moment otherwise gone." Fabulous, that is how I use my photos and why writing a post takes so long for me. I spend a lot of time with the memories. :) Thanks for sharing these lovely memories with us. You are so full of life. I can picture you with your blisters and Bandaids, not missing a thing. :)
