Taking in Life Around Me......#SundayStills.....Theme: Close up or Macro

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind Leisure. I've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme. Sometimes I'm a week late commenting but I do try to visit everyone. After all, if you take the time to produce something, you sure hope people visit.

I'm glad I double checked before posting because I had the theme wrong and almost didn't participate but I'm excited because I liked the theme dilapidated but didn't really feel like I had much to contribute. However that has been moved to October so I am going to be on the hunt.

This weeks theme is close up or macro. I love close up shots and macro and hope to some day have a macro lens. Even without one though you can get some pretty great shots if you just take your time. 

What's the difference between macro and close up. According to expertphotography.com: Close up means you're just shooting at a short distance from the subject (and in my mind, filling the frame). Macro means you're taking super close-ups of objects at 1:1. So the size of the image on your sensor is equal to the size of the item you're photographing in real life. 

The above and below photos are of some dahlias I had when we were first building our house. I don't have them anymore, but dahlias are some of my favorite flowers.

When we visited family in Florida in 2018, the kids rigged their Spikeball net to float in the water. I loved this photo of my youngest. 

My cat Blitz. I don't have him anymore but he was pretty cool. 

I hate spiders, but this one was kind of cool, and I used my zoom lens.

I took this close up of my eye to fit with this quote a few years ago.

This squirrel was crazy. He or she was at a park we visited and had absolutely no fear...it kept running around on our table (while we were sitting at it), and just sat there and let me take a picture.
