Taking in Life Around Me.....#SundayStills

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureI've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme. Sometimes I'm a week late commenting but I do try to visit everyone. After all, if you take the time to produce something, you sure hope people visit.

It's been a few weeks since I participated and I'll probably miss next week since we'll be on vacation. Last week Terri was on vacation and the week before that my computer was having some issues...mostly due to me attempting to try doing something with my photos app on my mac, which ended up messing some things up. I had a local tech company help me, and while they did free up space on the computer by moving my photo library to a portable hard drive, I don't think they entirely fixed everything. I'm tempted to go to an apple store or somewhere else who specializes more in macs. I don't know. I just wish I knew a computer genius who would come to my house and let me pay them with dinner and dessert...any takers?

Anyways, before I digress, let's get onto the challenge for the week. It's the monthly color challenge and the color this month? Mustard. Now, mustard can be a variety of shades, and for the most part I like them all. The condiment mustard, I like sparingly and my favorite is a brown mustard, though I used to dip my Costco pretzels in yellow mustard. I'll use it in my homemade BBQ sauce, deviled eggs or potato/macaroni salad, or on a hotdog, bratwurst or polish dog, but that's about it.

I do love yellow flowers, yellow leaves, and yellow in my home decor.

These flowers were at one of our favorite farm stands in the Columbia River Gorge.

This pretty butterfly has the look of maybe a pale dijon mustard.

Sunflowers are another favorite of mine. All the amazing colors. I don't have any yellow photos of dahlias otherwise they'd be right here with these.

Fall leaves in Leavenworth.

Not sure what this is, but it's all over in central Oregon

Sea planes off of Friday Harbor, Washington

There were many buildings in Italy that were various shades of yellow, many I'm sure faded with time.

This was one of his favorite toys when he was little along with a yellow dump truck.

  1. What a gorgeous set of images, Kirstin! I forgot about mustard working for pretzels (at least in moderation)! Wow, love the variety of yellows. Sorry to read about your computer woes! I bought a new laptop, and earlier today, I used it to update my post with new links. I come back to my desktop and nothing updated. I hope I'm not having computer issues--both are HP and brand new! Errghh! I hope you get things worked out. Have a wonderful week or two!

    1. Thank you Terri. I love technology until it doesn't work. lol. I may need to contact the tech guy again, I'm not entirely sure they helped me.
