Taking in Life Around Me......#sundaystills....Theme: The Color Pink...Pretty in Pink

This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terri from Second Wind LeisureI've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme. Sometimes I'm a week late commenting but I do try to visit everyone. After all, if you take the time to produce something, you sure hope people visit.

This weeks theme is a color challenge. And the color? Pink. You will rarely see me wearing pink or decorating with pink. It's not that I don't like it, but I'm just not drawn to it when it comes to clothing or decor. In nature, in regards to flowers and trees, I LOVE it. That being said, I found quite a few photos with pink and as I was out and about this last week, found some pink things to take photos of.

Two of the wines my aunt and uncle produce are in pink bottles. The light pink is named Four Sisters Red   in honor of the 4 sisters in the family. It is special to me because my mom passed away. The wind chimes in the tree were a given to my aunt by my dad after my mom died.

I love my MIL. I hit the jackpot with her.

My youngest daughter (who is single) hosted a Galentines party and went all out!

Love the pink sky over Providence Park before a soccer game.

My amazing grandma in 2018 holding my grandson Indiana who would be here great great grandson. We were in Florida to celebrate her 90th birthday. She passed away in 2020.

Pink sky outside our home.

Pink Flamingos at the Ft. Worth Zoo.

These pink Spoonbills were pretty cool!

Oh Italy...you have my heart. The pink hues in the stucco in Venice.

The island of Burano (and Murano) is known for its brightly colored homes and buildings. Why? Legend has it that the bright colors helped the fishermen see the buildings more vividly and allow them to know when they were approaching the island in the fog.
Aren't they stunning.

Me actually wearing pink in Switzerland with our Swiss friend Andrea. I think this is the only pink shirt I own.

Pink chair and flowers at the base of Mt. Hood.

Pretty Pink Rhododendron outside my daughters house.

Foxglove at the end of my road...more purple than pink...or maybe more magenta

When the weather is nice, my grandson likes to go for walks down their street. So many of the homes have flowers in the yard, many of them pink so I took advantage last week and snapped some photos. Pretty pink roses above.

I can never remember what this flower is. It was always a favorite of my moms.

When we go on our walks, Indiana likes to find the "paint"...there are a few spots in the sidewalk that are spray painted. I'm guessing because of the cracks in the sidewalk. This set is pink, and across the street are some painted with orange.

Pink amidst purple and orange..I think it's a form of poppy but I'm not sure.

Pretty pink Peony. I love peonies!

There you have it. It was fun actually getting out and photographing some current photos for the themes. The weather definitely helps. I have some plans on a nice Saturday to walk downtown Vancouver Washington exploring and looking for things to photograph.

With Joy Unquenchable,
Kirstin

  1. Wow, so many amazing pinks, Kirstin, and so many that spark loving memories for you! Your Italy shots are so pretty--I'm partial to that pink stucco as well. I see I'm not the only one with pink skies. Must be a northwest thing! I hope we can find a way to meet up in September!

  3. Hi, Kirstin. I enjoyed visiting here. I do love the color pink but then I like other pastels like a sky blue and lavender. When I think of pink, I think of baby girls and pink roses.

  4. Hi Kirstin, what a lovely collection of pinks you've shared for this week's Sunday Stills. I don't wear a lot of pink but have a few items with pink in them. I'd love to see those colourful houses one day, amazing!
