Taking in Life Around Me.....#Sundaystills.....Theme: Future
This #sundaystills challenge is hosted by Terrie from Second Wind Leisure. I've also been loving visiting the blogs of the other participants and being inspired by their interpretations of the theme.
This weeks theme for #sundaystills is "Future", which seems fitting for a new year. So many things make us think about this word. When we graduated high school we wondered what our future would be, then maybe we graduated college, or got married, had kids, started a new year, new job, bought a new home, maybe lost a loved one...all these things while wondering what the future would hold for us. Now we're where we are today and still looking forward to the future with questions "what's it going to hold?" "What's it going to look like?" If I had thought more in advance, it would have been fun to look back and find pictures of life's phases.
My hubby and I will be married 30 years this October. There's so much the future could hold.
Our wedding day. October 10, 1992
The familia minus son in law and granddaughter at a Christmas Eve service. They were elsewhere in the building.
I look at my grandkids and am excited for their futures. They are so fun and it will be exciting to see their personalities develop. Their likes/dislikes, talents, gifts, passions.
I'm excited for the future date that we are in this new part of our house. I've been sharing about this phase of construction during my Weekend Coffee Share posts and have done a few videos on my IG (Kirsteemarie Kirstin Troyer) if you'd like to check them out. I have so many plans for creating a place for gathering. You can also search here on the blog under home construction to see the entire journey from the beginning when we started building the house. I haven't blogged as much in the last few years about this new phase finalization but hope to at some point.
In regards to the future of this year....I hope to activate my word of the year, (I'll share it in a few weeks on Writers Quote Wednesdays). I hope the future of this year is healthy, filled with outdoor adventures, travel, lots of reading, playing with grandkids and good health. I wish the same for all of you.
I decided to start my year off with a Polar plunge of sorts with a few friends. Why not start the year off doing something that I wouldn't normally do. Set the "future" in motion.
Kirstin
Well, I assume the little doll in the highchair is your Granddaughter. She is adorable! Might have to go check out your videos of your new addition to your house. What fun! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lea...yes she is our 11 month old granddaughter and her big brother is 3 1/2 . So fun.
DeleteI love your entire post, Kirstin, but the polar bear plunge brings back memories of winter events I organized while working for Sacramento Parks and Rec. Did a couple of them. fun stuff. You are braver than me, though! Your dear grandchildren are wonderful examples of future and I'm sure you as their grandma will help shape it for them. I'm so excited about your home addition and the future fun you will have living in it, decorating, etc--how fun, I'm sure you are beyond excited, right? Your wedding pic is fabulous, so 90s (I loved the big-haired, spiral-permed 90s)! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Terri! haha...yep big hair and spiral perm that took hours for the poor hair dresser to roll. Thankfully my perms held very well and I could keep them for at least a year
DeleteWhat a sweet post and I love the pictures. I love your hair and smile. Grandkids are so much fun. I'm in awe of ours. Burr, I'm not sure I could do a Polar plunge.
ReplyDeleteThank you Debby. I love our grandkiddos. I get to watch them every wednesday and I love it.
DeleteKirstin, this is a fun look backwards and forwards. Your wedding picture is so beautiful. Your grandkids are so full of life and energy and are cute as bugs. You have a busy life and future for sure. Remodeling takes so much even if you are not the one personally doing the work. You have extra people in your quiet spaces. I hope your 2022 is wonderful. I'm excited to learn your WOTY.
ReplyDeleteThank you Marsha!
